Do you have Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or Gimp?

I use Photoshop and Gymp is free. All you really need is the ability to work in layers, adjust opacity and be able to select and move items.

Thats the basics, maybe somebody knows about PSP.

I'd say so, it's $100 at the best buy here in Jax.

I use an old copy of PSP7 (I don't even have the CD or books for it anymore) It works fine for me.

forget about PSP versions above the 7

One good reason, no one found a way to make decals with those new versions

a good procedure works for PSP 7 but none has been found usable for versions 8 and 9

PSP7 is really enough to work with

I do my skins with that

I agree on the thoughts concerning PSP 7 versus 8 or 9.

It's not so much the skinning, which is a talent I do not posess, but general usage. I like Version 7 the best of

the ones I tried. Heck, been using PSP since version 4.

It showed useful improvements up to 7, then took a hard left turn, IMHO.

The fact that Jasc was bought by Corel means the prior versions may be hard to find.

Good luck...

It is quite annoying that PSP 8, 9, and 10 can't do tga files correctly! I like the newer interface though. So I work in PSP 10 and use PSP 7 to save the final tga :)

Forget the Gimp, forget PSP 12345678910 whatever number they are on now....

Photoshop is where it is at.

I used to use PSP 8 for when I had to edit BMPs for skins and then photoshop for decals.......I just uninstalled PSP and use Photoshop exclusively....It is such a great program.
