New Patch mysteries

1- Pilot skins? LODs are gone. BMP's all that. I'm back to ball players and guys who want their heads shot off.

2- Weapons I added? Gone?

3- Guns? Back to what is issued?

4- Those elements that were in the Objects folder outside of subfolders? Gone?

5- And the smoke grenade that Capun made and delivered 3 days before the patch? I have a copy but don't know where to put it.

Thanks for your help.

Nope. I have most of it but the stuff I was working on for 4 days got zapped. I had no idea that the update was going to lift the weapons and gun files. I became proficient enough that most I can just jot down again but now I don't know where to put it.

The A-26 lights are still in place. I didn't check the others. Are they? I have several night missions and they really make it believable.

Did you ever try to put Capun's aircraft objects into play? I cannot get them to show in the mission editor (because they are static) or as targets. But what you were seeking about a month ago is there. For my purposes, there is a MiG 21 and a C46. Perfect.

In your main WOV folder, there's a folder called "Backup", with sub-folders ....good chanche that the stuff got relocated there, that's how it worked with previous patches, not sure if SP4 does it the same way.

Backup folder is no longer used for this patch.

Pilot stuff should be in the objects/aircraft folder

All ground objects need to have some modifications to their objectx.ini file

For the downedpilot you need this downedpilot.ini in the folder

[GroundObjectData]

; Downed Pilot

ObjectFullName=Downed Pilot

ObjectDataFile=DownPilot_data.ini

[LOD001]

Filename=downpilot.LOD

Distance=2000

[shadow]

CastShadow=FALSE

ShadowLOD=

ShadowType=1

ShadowCastDist=500

MaxVisibleDistance=500

guess I'm a lucky one i went straight and patched at 5am wednesday morning came home from work and flew!

1 question I have about the patch, why do squadron patches not change when you change squadrons in the loadout screen??? Stock and add-on aircraft.

2400 and all is well. Except for a bug. I reported it via email to 3rd Wire.

Something is putting errant data into the folders. Loadouts from aircraft into pilot files. Aircraft data into ground folders. And I THINK it keeps doing it and is not just an aberration of the update.

Are you talking about the camo preview? It won't change? That is what shows up there when you have patch.bmp in your aircraft skin folder.

I have also been noticing something goofy with the numbers....

If you select the first number or last number in a squadron, all the AC in the flight will be that same number....

Example....select number 0 through 3 for all four AC....

Once it loads up, all 4 aircraft will show the decals that correspond with the 0 aircraft.....

Go back and change the 0 to say 8, or some other number, everything shows appropriately...

Because you no longer need the groundobjectdata.ini.
