+scrapper 0 Posted November 27, 2006 I am looking for the P-38L, but have not seen it on any of the sites. Does anyone know where I can get it? Scrapper
BUFF 8 Posted November 27, 2006 We had it but following a spat that has been going on elsewhere between some people the model's author has removed all his files from the public domain. Sad loss to the community due to some childish behaviour on the part of a few.

Sad loss to the community due to some childish behaviour on the part of a few. That is too bad. I am thinking of creating a WWII campaign for europe. That would have been useful as an escort. +allenjb42 4,234 Posted November 27, 2006 Wrench has a P-38 at his site: http://wrench1smog.com NEW 11/19/05!! Generic OD skin, with 1943 markings for P-38F/G/H/L models. This is the complete airplane; with everything needed to unzip and fly away!! Please read the 'readme' for important information. Have a look on the new aircraft page. +Tailspin 3 Posted November 27, 2006 So is that supposed to make us mad at those involved in the spat? There are different levels of childish behavior and "picking up your toys and going home" is one too. The vast majority of the community who wasn't involved doesn't get any respect from this dude? Sorry, I can't see the big loss.
BUFF 8 Posted November 27, 2006 Sorry, I can't see the big loss. Well, there are 20 WWII aircraft involved - if you don't fly WWII it won't be a loss but to some newcomers it will be although existing old hands will have the files.
+Dave 2,322 Posted November 28, 2006 TS They are his planes and if that is what he wants he can do that. He doesn't owe us a thing to the community. If he is displeased with the way the community is and wants his things removed who are we to say he can't? There is no obligation by him to supply the community with planes. I have known Wolf since the beginning and if this is what he wants I support him. He isn't doing this unless he felt strongly about what has happened. +Tailspin 3 Posted November 28, 2006 I do happen to fly some of the WWII stuff. I know he can do what he wants with his planes and he doesn't owe anybody anything. I just don't understand the motive. Spite? Who's he mad at? The newcomers who will suffer most from his actions? I don't get it.

+Tailspin 3 Posted November 28, 2006 Oh well. We all do things for different reasons. Wolf had his I'm sure. This whole episode was obviously about WAY more than criticising any particular model. Too bad.
SayethWhaaaa 245 Posted November 28, 2006 Don't mind me for chiming in, but did he remove his arsenal just from CA or has he completely denied the community access to these particular models?

He has removed all of his models from Combatace to deny the community use of them.
+streakeagle 871 Posted November 28, 2006 (edited) The modders giveth and the modders taketh away. It is a good thing that I archive nearly every aircraft variant ever released for the SFP1/WOV/WOE series :) Edited November 28, 2006 by streakeagle

The P-38 and P-51 are essential WWII fighters. It would be like not have the F-15 model available in WOE. Scrapper :tomato2:
