Looking at a framed, numbered and signed print of The Phantoms by D. Kissinger that is on the wall directly above my monitor, it looks like Sundowner pretty much got it spot on! The only difference I can see, is the litho has the outboard tank pylons painted white. The inboard pylons are black, and the Sidewinder rails are white.

I saw this exact plane a number of times "back in the day" at the Point Mago NAS airshows, and it was always one smooth looking bird!
