Nobody ever seems to do the Snoopy tail art on the "Hunters" paint scheme.

post-11639-1201130112_thumb.jpg

Thanks Sixgun!! I couldn't find a good picture of it! Not every planes of the VF-162 used it on it's tail, but I'm gonna include it as well, maybe as an optional .bmp, now that I have a good model of it!

I'll upload the pack today.

Dave, as far as VF-194 is concerned, are you doing only the late scheme? If the answer's yes, I'll cary on with the early one!

Yes i was planning on doing the late one. Also if you are going to do a decal for that VF-162 Snoppy, there is a way to do it so it only shows on specific aircraft numbers you want.

Thanks Badfrank....good info for those who don't have it. I got every book on the Sader that has pretty much been published. And a few other that some do not.

Wilco

We will see, depends on how big the files are total.

Great info.

And:

F-8C Crusader USN VF-111 'Sundowners' USS ORISKANY (CVA-34) 05/1966 01/1968 AH

The VF-111 aboard the Intrepid 67/69 was a detachment. VF-111 Det. 11

Yeah Dave, I know, but as I don't know on wich plane it was displayed, I think I'll give the two .bmp's in the pack, so that the player can choose wich one he's going to use.

So, as far as VF-194 is concerned, I'll carry on with the early one!

Thanks a lot Frank, but there's a couple of errors concerning the Marines squadron I think. I've got pictures of VMF(AW)-232 squadron F-8 at Da Nang, and they are clearly F-8E's. And I've read everywhere that the Lancers' F-8 were F-8E too, because they used a lot of bombs during their tour of duty aboard the Oriskany.

All those Marine squadrons stationed at Da Nang used the same Crusaders, meaning that when one unit rotated out their Crusaders were then used by the replacement unit. And yes, these Crusaders were F-8E models.

Stock Squadrons (who served at SEA), with Plane Version, Airbase, serving Data from - to, and Tailcode

...

F-8C Crusader USN VF-111 'Sundowners' USS INTREPID (CVS-11) 05/1967 02/1969 AK

...

Actually the Sundowners had a few more deployments to Vietnam...and changed their tail code quite often:

Oct 63 - Jul 64: NH1xx USS Kitty Hawk

Mar 65 - Nov 65: NE4xx USS Midway

May 66 - Nov 66: AH1xx USS Oriskany

May 67 - Dec 67: AH1xx USS Intrepid* - Detachment for CVS Air Wing

Jun 67 - Jan 68: AH1xx USS Oriskany

Jun 68 - Feb 69: AK1xx USS Intrepid* - Detachment for CVS Air Wing

Feb 69 - Sep 69: AH1xx USS Ticonderoga

Mar 70 - Dec 70: AJ1xx USS Shangri-La

What I'm trying to say here is that the 'AH' tailcode would have been far more representative than the 'AK' tailcode...

Well give it to the first one like I do. Saves you alot of work and I would not want to have 2 BMP's.

That's ok, I'll include it with every crusader except the ones I hadn't seen with the Snoopy, by example the one of Bellinger when he shooted down his Mig-21.

In my List are only the Stock WoV Planes / Skins

So there are many missing Squadrons or Skins!

Its no Problem to do a second list with these missing Squadrons or Skins!

Point taken. But within the stock WOV campaigns the Sundowners fly the Crusaders only in 1965 from the Midway, thus their tailcode should then be 'NE'.

Besides, it's interesting that in the WOV campaign the Sundowners transit to the F-4B in 1966...

Ah well, nothing is perfect.

Ok guys, adding the Snoopy as a decal is impossible due to decal number limitations... So, what do I do, do I post it with the Snoopy on the .bmp, or without?

Go with Snoopy. More fun with him than without. ;)
