+Soulfreak Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Hallo Guys a Ouestion to the MiG-Gurus! I have got a question, is there a MiG-21SPS out? i couldn´t find one... if not, how can i modify a MiG-21PF so that it´s a SPS? Quote
sparkomatic Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 found an info source, so rocket-assist take-off and blown-flaps (giving a 25 mph reduction in approach speed) plus a search / track radar...sounds Gucci Quote
kukulino Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) I have got a question, is there a MiG-21SPS out?i couldn´t find one... if not, how can i modify a MiG-21PF so that it´s a SPS? Well, it is not clear about Mig-21SPS. It is PFM version with SPS mechanism (SPS: blown flaps, -K: with gun) - according to http://www.mig-21.de/english/gdr.htm for example. This mean that PFM was exported as SPS/SPS-K to Germany. According to valka.cz page, early PFMs were not equiped with SPS mechanism. Later Mig-21PFM series were equiped with SPS standardly. We (Czechoslovakia) had 50 Mig-21 PFM version received from ZSSR. And we had 39 Mig-21PFs without SPS mechanism. Or HERE! ---- link Or HERE TOO! ---- link As we can see, there are PFMs no PFs. Interesting discusion about SPS mechanism link ----------> HERE! There is Mig-21.inis pack at Avsim library download - it was named More MiGs by Lucas Sexton. There is Mig-21PFS based on stock PFM model (it is old pack. There was no Mig-21PF model when this pack was finished, probably). I know nothing about another mods close to German Mig-21PFM/SPS version. Or there is SFP1 Aircraft Pack 2 by Bob Hauser on Avsim. There is Mig-21FL basen on Mig-21PFS mod by Madcaddie (Madcaddies PFS is in More Migs pack included). Both packs are based on Mig-21PFM.LOD If SPS/SPS-K were just renamed PFMs, we can use standard FM (or improved FMs by Fubar512) and rename PFM to SPS/SPS-k. If there was important difference, we need edit FMs acording to difference. That is all I know about it  In general, I know nothing about original Mig-21SPS/SPS-K mod made for us Maybe somebody else Edited January 27, 2008 by kukulino Quote
+Gepard Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 The designation MiG-21SPS or SPS-K was given by the LSK/LV (east german air force), because they internally had given MiG-21PF, which were modified in the GDR, the designation MiG-21PFM. When the soviets delivered the original MiG-21PFM to the GDR, the LSK had a problem of course. So the decision was made to call all "original" PFM in LSK service SPS. When the gunpod GP-9 was available, all GP-9 capable "original" PFM got the german designation SPS-K. K stands for Kanone, gun. The MiG-21PFM of SFP1 would be, following the LSK designation rules, a MiG-21SPS-K. I hope my statement was not to confusing. Quote
sparkomatic Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 that is very interesting...sounds amusing that they had to make a name change like that Quote

kukulino Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) if you select the gp9 in your mod, is it than visible??? btw nice work Kuku! Thanx Soulfreak. But I just edited inis according to great ideas posted upper  Soulfreak, you wrote this question: "Okay, one Question, if i try it so, is the gunpodvisible, when i don´t select it in the load-out menu???" I understant it right, I hope. I do not selected GP-9 in loadout menu and GP-9 was not visible: On the other hand. Mig-21PFM with mechanish for GP-9 installed can carry GP-9 or fuel tank. So I made new folder Mig-21PFM_GP-9 with third weaponstation for GP-9 and fourt weaponstation for fueltank. And it works right. I can carry GP-9 or fuel tank. First plane is mounted with fueltank and second is mounted with GP-9 on centerline station: Maybe somebody made these edits on column5.us forum. If yes, I apologize to original tweakers  So all I need is centerline pylon. I chatted with my friend vrkuboy, and he can make new pylon. But I need wait to Thursday, becouse he will not be at home tomorrow. Just little step needed to get workable "GP-9 container removing instalation" on Mig-21PFM/SPS/SPS-K mod :umnik2: Edited January 30, 2008 by kukulino Quote

kukulino Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 (edited) There is Mig-21PFM without capability load GP-9 in my previous post. (Mig-21SPS acording to "Soulfreaks" designation) This plane was standardly loaded with drop fueltank. So, there are five weapon stations in Mig-21PFM inis: // Station 1 = Left Wing Station // Station 2 = Right Wing Station // Station 3 = Fuselage Centerline Station // Station 4 = Centerline Pylon station // Station 5 = Used for deleting GP-9 contajner [AirToAir] Loadout[01].WeaponType=R-3S Loadout[01].Quantity=1 Loadout[02].WeaponType=R-3S Loadout[02].Quantity=1 Loadout[03].WeaponType=Tank490_MiG21 Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[04].WeaponType=MiG21CenterPylon Loadout[04].Quantity=1 Here is Mig-21PFM with removable GP-9 (Mig-21SPS-K. Second plane has GP-9 carried): Here are five weaponstations too: // Station 1 = Left Wing Station // Station 2 = Right Wing Station // Station 3 = Fuselage Centerline Station // Station 4 = Centerline Pylon station // Station 5 = GP-9 station [AirToAir] Loadout[01].WeaponType=R-3S Loadout[01].Quantity=1 Loadout[02].WeaponType=R-3S Loadout[02].Quantity=1 Loadout[03].WeaponType=Tank490_MiG21 Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[04].WeaponType=MiG21CenterPylon Loadout[04].Quantity=1 But in loadout menu I see just standard three weapon stations. So, I added for every mission typ (AirToAir; AirToAirLongRange; etc.) loadout with fueltank. I have fueltank in loadout menu carrried allways (I see pylon loaded on centerline station). If I want load GP-9, I just choose GP-9 in centerline "menu" and that's it. EDIT: problem found: [PylonStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=4 StationGroupID=4----------------------------- I had 2 on both new stations StationType=EXTERNAL //AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.08,-0.71 AttachmentPosition=0.0,0.08,-0.64 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-1.0,0.0 LoadLimit=100 AllowedWeaponClass=FT AttachmentType=SOVIET ModelNodeName= PylonMass=40 PylonDragArea=0.02 FuelTankName=MiG21CenterPylon NoJettisionTank=TRUE Edited February 5, 2008 by kukulino Quote
kukulino Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 OK, pylon is ready for upload. Instalation instructions are a little bit complicated, but for skilled members it is not problem install pylon on right place. It is not mod for SFP1/WOE/WOV beginers Quote
