There's still a virtual box of matzah available for the lucky person who comes up with a nickname for the fictional Israeli EF-2000, or should that be IF-2000

Hmm...howz about: Zeeb = Wolf

That's Ze'ev for Wolf in Hebrew.

Nesher refers both to Eagle and Vulture, and according to babylon translator to griffin as well.

However I think the reference in this case was to Eagle.

at the moment the IAF seems to go for weather related names.

F-16C/D Barak = Lighting

F-15I Ra'am = Thunder

F-16I Sufa = Storm

Though I think they may have exhausted this this avenue.

They may have to resort to using old names with numbers, like the U.S. with the Lighting II.

Tough this is already being used to distinguish aircraft variants. For example F-16A/B Nets aircraft that arrived from USAF surplus in 1994 and were not upgraded like the IAF A/B models where called Nets-2 to distinguish them from the rest of the Nets fleet.

I'll back Ze'ev, It starts a new line of the dog family that hasn't been explored yet.

and it's my fathers name and I'd love to have a fighter named after him

Hey...I'm only as good as my search engine lol !

Ze'ev does sound much better than "Zeeb". In fact, the more I think of it the better it sounds!

Unicorn in hebrew is "Had Keren". doesn't sound too catchy for the Israely ear, I must admit...

Swallow = Snunit

I think that's already been taken by the Grob G-120A trainer.

It is a bit hard to find new names, not many birds of prey or weather effects left.

With the F-16I the IAF asked the public to send in suggestions.

I'll think we'll go for Ze'ev. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

If we get another fictional IAF aircraft/skin we'll reconvene at the IAF thread.
