+allenjb42 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/7402016.stm Think we could get one of these in SF? We'd need a James Bond pilot in a dinner suit too!
crl848 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Insane. Why do a test flight in the mountains where there's more to crash into?
WarlordATF Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Thats pretty cool, the chute deployment and landing looked pretty violent though. I just wish that he had a helmet cam, it would be great to see from the pilots POV!
+JediMaster Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 The weight of a helmet cam would risk breaking the guy's neck.
+SkippyBing Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Why do a test flight in the mountains where there's more to crash into? I think he lives in Switzerland so mountains are pretty much de-rigour. I don't think a helmet cam would cause any problems the one I've got weighs about 70 grams for the bit that actually goes on your helmet which is less than the battery pack for the lip light, I've seen footage from parachutists and similar stuff.
+MigBuster Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 doh! - was looking forward to the landing but then he cheated and used a parachute
