getting the FPS back

Recommended Posts

after the huge FPS loss of the new patch and even with stutter i searched for a solution and tweaked my settings in the nvidia control panel.

here are my settings that gave me the fps level from the old patch (translated into english):

Anisiotrope Filtering 8

Antialiasing AA on

AA modus expand

AA tranparency off

AA 8q

triple puffer on

error messages and mipmap off

negative lod on (try also clamp)

trilinear optimization on

texture quality performance ( makes a huge difference with the effects)

texture clamp hardware

this settings should be good to go for future tweaks

game settings

shadow low - effects medium, rest of the settings as before the patch

enjoy

Jaeger

I have some odd FPS drops on an nvidia 6200 256MB (somewhat of a low end card)

F-15A external view, looking from the top, with only plain ground below

1024x768,32bpp,2xfsaa

-medium graphics options but shadows low (off) - 44 FPS (that is good)

-medium graphics options but shadows med (on) - 12 FPS (unacceptable)

-medium graphics options but shadows med (on) - 17 FPS (using old shadow lod)

-low graphics options but shadows med (on) - 17 FPS (what!)

On the other similar PC, but with an nvidia 7600GS 256MB (a newer low/mid end card) things behaved not so extreme, but still:

-medium graphics options but shadows low (off) - 67 FPS

-medium graphics options but shadows med (on) - 38 FPS

-low graphics options but shadows med (on) - 49 FPS

...I am so stubborn on this since even the ancient fighters anthology engine had shadows,

and now after half a dozen of TNT/Geforce generations I'd better turn shadows off....

SFP1: System Requirements

A super computer that can calculate the value of pi to 1337 gazillion places.

999.99 THz or faster Processor (Quad-Centi core recommended for Low Settings Gameplay)

1.WARNING# Overclocking CPU may cause a temporal gravitational time rift.

An additional computer with same specs or better.

512 TB RAM with 8420THz or higher Memory Clock

ATM machine

256 TB Video Card with DirectX 69.0c (Nvidia XeForce 99990 GX1000 Ultra; due to poor scaling, a Zeforce 99995 GTX may be required on some PCs)

8 nuclear reactors producing 100 Trillion Megatons of Power per day per reactor.

Two sheets of hyperconductive thinking Titanium.

A floppy disk

14 Petabytes of Free Hard Drive space

Windows Vizier or Windows OMFGWTFBBQ

50 Gazzilion Gallons of Cola and 20 Tons of KFC

A five hundred and sixty one thousand inch 1T50V£Rx9000 monitor (when used in conjunction with the Nvidia XeForce 99990 GX1000 Ultra) running at 16777216x9412364 resolution (200THz Refresh Rate)

Gaseous-liquid phased nitrogen-ammonium coolant (below 0 Kelvin recommended)

No life to speak of whatsoever or for any life you had to have been extracted and fused into the computer workings somehow

Thermodynamic CPU & GPU cooler or 46,000 gallons of industrial strength liquid nitrogen.

Space, matter and time calculator

God emulator

Special Relativity PhysX engine

Gamma-ray Player

Stephen Hawkings Wheelchair

SFP1 may still freeze on high settings with the above -minimal- system, so when you wait for SFP1 to respond, it is recommended to have a ten time larger particle accelerator then the LHC so you can create a black hole just out of boredom.

All hospital diagnostic machines. They dont really have a point but they look nice by the 50 million yottatonne computer you'll have

he he :biggrin::sleep::smile:

Edit > BTW >

(Only 3 known computers will run SFP1 properly(maybe 4) : Skynet, Hal, and the Matrix)

Chuck Norris, on the other hand, need no computer to run it. He can run it simply by thinking it.

BTW2 > Although not a regular occurence, it is recommended to avoid SFP1 on computers worth less than $14 billion.

And the last thing to be noted, Commodore 64 can run the game with no problem

Reading all that.. my country must be a little behind in what the computer shops offer.. So I rented Chuck Norris at the video store, I hope it works.

Just have Super Chuck sit in Mr. Hawkins chair and call the beyonders so they can bring their copy of SFP1 and get your 1.5 byte pc flying. :good:
