+Dave Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 This is why I never added the canopy mods. I mean look at all the problems it has caused for a wee bit of eye candy. Its good people are and were getting into some modding to make them work, but it has zero utility. Quote

Guest Stiglr Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 (edited) Now *that* looks a mite drafty.... Doesn't this system have code lines for max deploy speeds for things like landing gear... canopies... airbrakes... flaps? What about damage (or inability to retract) if the max speed is surpassed? If not, it should. That'd keep a sausage-fingered player from opening a canopy during flight... or in the case of gear and flaps, give them some consequences for abusing their airframe! +Dave Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 If you like them though, its your business, just my opinion. Sorry if I sounded harsh. Quote
eraser_tr Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 (edited) You can change them to be toggled on command with one of the 10 anim keys even with an old plane designed long before they were added. The first plane I encountered it was with the gloster meteor. I change the canopy data to this [Canopy] SystemType=ANIMATION <------ changed from highlift_device or whatever InputName=ANIMATION_5 <----added (copied from another plane with a manual canopy) 5 used because the animation ID at bottom DeploymentMethod=MANUAL <------- changed from being automatic with speed Setting[1].Angle=30.0 Setting[1].DeployValue=15.0 Setting[1].RetractValue=10.0 MaxDeflection=30.0 MinDeflection=0.0 ControlRate=0.3 AnimationID=5 MinExtentPosition=1.8169,0.5474,-0.9940 MaxExtentPosition=-1.8544,-0.4772,0.0110 And I can toggle the canopy to open or close. I deleted the max/min deploy speeds, but leaving them might limit when you can manually open or close the canopy. Edited October 3, 2008 by eraser_tr Quote
