Wraith27 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Thanks Guys! Now our Fencer family is complete! Small question: Did Iraq use their Fencers in Desert Storm? Quote
+lindr2 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Thanks Guys! Now our Fencer family is complete! Small question: Did Iraq use their Fencers in Desert Storm? No planes were hidden all strikes period then, closer to end of operation DS, all 24 planes succesfully moved to Iran, 12 of tehem were returned after 1991-1992, 12 others were confiscated by Iran, in 2000 Iran buy other 12 Su-24MK, maybe Iraqi? to Silverbolt: Carrier based - Su-24K, project was cancelled in ~1975-80 Others cancellled projects: Su-24BM - non swing wings, internal weapons bay, 2 tail stabiliser (1979-83), Su-24MT - tanker (1989), Su-24MM - 'little modernization' additional fuel tanks, additional air intake on top part of fusellage (1985). Wraith27 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 If this is SU-24BM...it still has swing wings... Quote
+lindr2 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) If this is SU-24BM...it still has swing wings... Not One prototypes BM were planned, in 1979-83 period several variants projected - with swing wings or not, with 2 tails or not , with AL-31F engines ect... It's normal For example M-4 prototype projects (1950-1953): 3-4 variants engines 4 x NK-12, 4 x AMRD-03, 8 x TV-2F, 6 x AL-5 ect. Thank You for reply! Edited March 12, 2009 by lindr2 Quote
Lexx_Luthor Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 If I ever get my campaign going, say by 2030, I'll use this for Tu-148 of some kind (Rd36, AL21, whatever...). A bit small. A LOT small, and wrong seating...but the best approximation now. Yough! Thanks VELTRO Quote

Gunrunner Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Silverbolt> The AV-MF used Fencers, but as shore-based strike aircrafts, they never were intended as carrier based aircrafts. AFAIR it was less than 100 planes, passed on from the VVS to replace Blinders, and they were attached to the Baltic Fleet. Quote

+allenjb42 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Some references for Fencer skins, and they're good sites anyway: http://www.geocities.com/alvmaia2/Sukhoi/25/index.html http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww4/b/657 Strange though, I would have expected the Syrians to use a camo skin like Iran, Iraq, Algeria and Libya. Instead they wear the standard white\grey scheme. Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Fencer A mod do you see any differences? green skin released for the current Fencer Quote
