Man it's been a long time...  I've for some reason been wanting to do a "VFA-35" (VA-35 never got past the A-7 if my mind serves me right) so I decided to do my own "What If" CAG jet as a start.

Thanks man, though I've decided to revamp from last night.... made it more "classic" in approach, though may add some tail tip stripes though...  As well as tank work too.

More progress, right now i have it set for the Blk I version (the older ECS panels are used on the texture) so if people are interested I can make a Blk II version as well.

Eric, I don't know whether you've read any of Robert Gandt's Sam Maxwell series http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/g/robert-gandt/but they feature Superhornets of (IIRC) VFA-32, 34, 35 and 36 flying off the USS Ronald Reagan in various scenarios in the Middle East, Persian Gulf, Straits of Taiwan  and South China Sea

I don't think 35 or 36 fly the Superhornet, and had Intruders and Corsairs respectively.

Nope, I thought VA-35 transitioned to Corsairs but a check showed they ran Intruders only from Vietnam to Desert Shield/Storm and later on.  The books look good to read though, so I may get one later on, haven't read a good military thriller in a long time.

But I am aware they never flew (given that the squadron was disestablished in early 1995.  So this is a purely "What If' skin as I thought it would be cool (given their insignia) on a Super Hornet.  I'd kinda "transition" from a C to E, and so on but no man, purely What If

Some more tweaking:

Uploaded and waiting for moderator approval..

Decided to modify the previous one for a "later" scheme given that CAGs change the style when they change over:

True... I was thinking of doing a C or A model, but I'm going to be lazy, still have to do the Line version but I felt like doing CAGs first...

Damn I didn't know that... but yeah I was going to have a subdued cat and then "AJ" and that would have been it.

And VFA-35 Line Bird work, just need to add the deck name and NAVY and for the Blk I she'll be good to go.

No problem brothre...

Decided to go a bit "modern" and adjust the insignia for a "later' version (much like what VFA-14 did):

Also by the by, got some INI tweaks from FANATIC MODDER who helped tweak the birds some more.  Overall effect is that pitch is smoother as well as various other tweaks, to include some slat fixes.  Radars are still APG-73 though.  Here's the actual ini's (as well as the missing VFA-105 skin that somehow disappeared) but overall looks and feels good and ONLY the inis are in this zip, along with the "missing" VFA-105 skin.

You may need to update (if you haven't) to Jul 2013 and see again as I have full use of all weapon systems.
