Yes... You've seen the Movie...You've gasped at the appalling acting..... you've winced at the stereotypical 'Evil Hun Ace'...... You've gawped in disbelief at the Service Revolver kill in the final scene!.. AND now.....(or quite soon)...you can fly the planes!

It just doesn't get better than this!!!... (or does it?) ......... Quite probably!!!

Thought I would pop this in here too...hope you guys don't mind

Hey, that's a very good and believeable design, Rickitycrate!

(Could you still move the writing? Further up or down, away from the exhaust pipe?)

Now, if don't fly it so much with your dog in mind, you might even be able to avoid the trees...

Damned, Widow, that Black Hawk Fokker is pretty close to an idea I had for that plane - but now you beat me.

The Nupe is also very nice and believeable for it's time.

Great stuff altogether!

Thanks Olham (still some work to do) but reasonably close to the film's originals... I made the mistake of painting the Fokker's underside yellow!...then realised that the photo I was using was just the sun's reflection!..ho hum!...we live and learn. (though it looked really cool with a yellow underside..So I have kept it for flying around in myself)

The one I am uploading will be traditional Black!

Instead of painting it black, you could just browse for a skin with black underside,

copy that out and place it in your skin.

There's a DVII with black undersides, but no DR1's sadly...so, it's out with the paintbrush!

Do you like Chicken Massala? Yes? Would you like it every day? That's how I feel with SPADs.

I think, I would be so surprised, if another craft would appear here at my field Vauxcere, that

I would forget to shoot it down.

You guys with your paints make me jealous. I can't even skin a cat! Please don't bother trying to convince me otherwise, I have some genetic abnormality which renders me entirely incapable of drawing or painting anything more complicated than a straight line. Sigh.

James - seeing you are a good "old" OFF Forum member, I'd suggest, you should try to define,

what sort of painting you would like, and in which colours, and on what plane. And then, either

me, or some other genius from our "skinners community", will do a personal skin for you.

What do you say?

That is a very kind offer, Olham. Danke.

Give me a bit to think about it. I would probably prefer an aircraft from the Central Powers--either your beloved Albatross DIII or a Fokker DVII. Perhaps on the fuselage, a large bird of prey, such as a European eagle or hawk with wings and claws outstretched--going in for the kill, would be ideal.

Or, maybe you could paint the whole plane as if it were a giant bird of prey, like the beautiful dragon skin by RAF Louvert? Whichever you prefer, I will simply commission the work and defer to your artistic license!

Thanks again. This will help to make me feel even further immersed into the world Between Heaven and Hell!

Okay, James, I'll see what I can do.

But when I put some good work into it, I must be allowed to add it to the contest;

which means others can download it too. But that is also the case with all my own

good skins.

Good grief, Widowmaker - have you discovered the "killer craft" for you now?

So you are "Schwarze Witwe" now?

As always, the screenies and discussions here are first-rate! Rickitycrate, I quite like your tip of the hat to your old canine pal...well done Sir.

Olham, nice of you to take on the paint project for Prop-Wasche. That'll buy you some good karma in the skinning contest.

Cheers!

Lou

Thanks Jammer and Mack. That pic was taken on one of my favorite flights so far. No enemys sighted on the patrol, but the atmosphere was great. It was a nice late afternoon flight and the sun just barely peeked over the horizon as put my Albatros down on the airfield.

Thanks, Olham. It will be my honor for "my" skin to be entered into the skinning contest. I don't fly online much, so it will not bother me if someone else is impressed enough with the skin you are doing for me that they go ahead and decide to download it, too!

I've always loved the look of the SPAD...

SPAD_Close-up.jpg

Taken with TH2Go at 3840 x 1024.

I have the side monitors set in at an angle to wrap around my workstation so the fish-eye lens look is not quite so evident in game.

My god, Test Pilot, simply killing those Camels would do - you need not send their engines to the moon!

Just back from a scenic flight through towering clouds (did you notice, they are not killing you so easy no more?)

It was a scenery or feel of the kind, when you watch a sundown by the sea in your holidays - you can't stop making

another picture. Again my wingies were all over the battle and doing fine - and all returned. Not so the FE2b's...

My Fee lads have tangled with your Jasta several times; I recongize the tail stripes. So far, personally, I've broken a bit better than even with them. I've gotten 2 of them, and they've forced me down once :). OTOH, they tend to make mincemeat out of my wingmen...
