Olham Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Ooops??? What is this? Did everybody loose their upper wings simultaneously, or did you test-fly an early monoplane low-decker? Quote
carrick58 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Ah the French, No wonder the plane wasnt popular with their pilots Quote
Wallaroo Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 How careless! - Losing one's wings like that - probably be on a chitty when I get back! Quote
Olham Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 That upper wing looked unreliable anyway, Wallaroo - as if it had fallen into the hands - or teeth - of a beaver! Quote
Wallaroo Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Or Maxim, the menacing mouse with his pesky little lead teeth! Quote

foreigndevil Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Strong wind, Morris! Look at those trees! But nice to see such a panoramic view (even with the distortions). Must be quite a setup, 3 x 24"! Quote
Olham Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Test-flying a new D III skin for our "Krauts vs Crumpets" campaign, I saw these R.E.8 diving on Cuirieux field. Three won't return; I got down two, and my wingmen another. Quote
carrick58 Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Nice and new looking. Do you ever weather the paint jobs? Quote
Olham Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 (edited) Not much - never live long enough, that they should be wheathered! No, all pictures I have seen of Albatros so far, they all looked well painted and well cleaned. German officers and their mechanics kept the craft in good looking shape as far as possible. Morris Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Olham, Nice story telling with ur picture. m Quote

Morris Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 that Stork should have stayed at his Airbase. Well done Olham. m Quote

Morris Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 U smoked him well. Are there any Krumpets left? m Quote
Olham Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Cripes, what a fight!!! To test fly my new Jasta 26 Albatros D III OAW skin, I made my first sortie with Xaver Dannhuber and Otto Fruhner. Their 1. Gruppe were still flying about 500 feet higher, when they got jumped at by 4 Bristol fighters. We were still struggling to get up there, when 3 more Brisfits joined in! I got my first chance, when one of them came down on my men. I fired at it, till a wing came off. After that, I hit two more of them hard, but they were "smoked" by my wings. When another Bristol crossed my path, I hit it hard, but then: gun jam! Fortunately my excellent wingmen helped me to get out. When my guns had cleared again, I shot this craft down, too. Man, what intense 10 minutes that were! Quote
Morris Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Olham, Those are the best screen shots if seen. Well done. I see that you stopped Ur plane next to Ur victim? Stunning. Morris Quote
carrick58 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Good Fight, Well done. Glad to see a Bistfit go down. Quote
