Jeremiah Weed 0 Posted February 28, 2009 Just personal complained, nothing more. Oh OK, I thought you were trying to say that JDAMs were solely offensive weapons, however they do have many uses in the defense of your homeland. I have personally used JDAM strikes real world while in an defensive posture.

+76.IAP-Blackbird 3,557 Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) The F-2 is an interesting plane cause it`s a bigger F-16.. realy impressive bird Edited March 4, 2009 by 76.IAP-Blackbird
+streakeagle 871 Posted March 4, 2009 Looks like wing and tailplanes are optimized more for subsonic lift rather than supersonic drag... admintting that the F-18's straighter wing was the better way to go rather than stressing Mach 2 performance.
+Gunrunner 314 Posted March 4, 2009 You're basically right... IIRC, the F-2 was mostly a way to keep the industry up to speed, and his main duty would be anti-shipping and CAS (at least they replaced primarily the F-1 units and the F-4 units with this role first), with air defense coming only second, the F-15 assuming the air superiority role. So, going for subsonic lift rather than supersonic drag makes it better at his first duty, allowing more payload, farther, at the cost of raw supersonic performance, of little use in his primary mission, a similar compromise to the F/A-18 indeed.
