How embarrassing.

Recommended Posts

After 93 minutes airborne, on a long tedious escort of three Roland recce planes, I ran out of gas about 20 miles short of home. Oh how they mocked me in the mess of the aerodrome I found fortuitously close beneath me.

Note: The gas allocation doobrey doesn't reset itself to 100%. I'd had it on 65% for at least the last ten missions. Plum.

If that had been my aerodrome, were you landed, they wouldn't have bothered.

It happened to me several times recently, that I didn't reach my base, or just on the last drop.

After warping that was - somehow it doesn't manage fuel too well.

Cause, before each flight, I fill in the petrol for one-and-a-half flightpaths ( roundtrip: 60 miles; fill in for 90 miles).

That way I have some reserve for dogfights. But warping, I always seem to loose more.

I have had the same problem, i keep having to put down. It might be because i'am using leaded fuel. It's unleaded at the start of the mission but by the time i'am on my way back it's leaded ( full of german lead)

Remember to bring enough fuel to circle the aerodrome while you climb to whatever altitude you make your approach to the enemy lines. I forgot to do so a few times myself.

All the best,
