I think you've captured it nicely. From reading the various stories from pilots in Vietnam, once they had eyes on the missile, they followed the glow to see if it was guiding on them or not.

Yes I am. Some sound effects are from packs I released four or five years ago, and a few of them, I mixed recently.

Actually, I've noticed a slight improvement, as the trails don't linger as long as the default ones do.
