Baywing Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I see that TrackIR 5 is now out. Sorry if that's old news, I've been away lately.... Quote
Hauksbee Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Is it out?...or just the software? I downloaded the software two days ago. New UI. I'm still adjusting the TrackIR, but I'm liking the new UI. Quote
sitting_duck Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 well..acutally both,,,new build (37), and new track ir,,(only 50 bucks more if understood the post correctly) wider field of view,,,guess its good for ppl with big heads.. Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 The software isn't yet available for TR3...but coming soon Quote
Burning Beard Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I went back to the old software, I found the view jumped around a little with the new one. Maybe it will be better when the non-beta comes out. Beard Quote

Beard I had the sam exact problem. Feels like your fighting in WWI with a violent case of the hic-ups. I went back to V4 also. Still, once they get the bugs worked out, the interface really looks great. /salute Hellshade Quote
Guest Barnstorm Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I have TrackIR 4 and downloaded the latest software, v 4.1.037. I too experienced eradic behavior of the TracKIR, and went back to build 036. I runs great now (like it did before). You know the old saying... "If it aint broke..." Quote
+Hasse Wind Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 TIR5 doesn't really seem to offer anything so remarkably new and improved that I should buy one and get rid of my good old TIR4. Quote
sitting_duck Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Ditto on trackIr ver 5.0. The interface is pretty cool....spent a half hour playaing there...but got subtle yet deffinite "jerkiness" in the game. Wonder if they (build 47 and ver 5.0) are for trackir5 only Quote
Offwatch Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Just got the Trackir 5 and spent a couple of hours flying with it. It is a improvement over the Trakir 4, nothing earthshattering just smoother and more precise, it feels more natural. The software is a big improvement. Quote
CW3SF Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 How fussy is either 4 or 5 to lights behind you when playing the game. I have heard it's a NO NO!! My wife sits at my "6" and reads while I play. She also makes comments on my muttering as I play, but loves the sight of old crates in the air. Accurate input is always apprecited. CW3SF Quote
