+MadJeff Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 The following tweaks have been verified as actual working tweaks that gain FPS. As I see new ones I'll test them and add them to this post. ******************************************************************** Flare Tweak Symptoms: When dropping flares you will get slowdowns or stutters. After I tested this tweak I had no noticable changes to framerate while dumping flares. WorkAround 1. Browse to \bazar\effects\rendereffects\shaders folder 2. Make a copy of the following files into a backup directory, then rename or delete the files: flare.psh flare.vsh flaretrail.psh flaretrail.vsh I renamed all files with a .org extension so I could reenable the files easily. IE flare.psh to flare.psh.org , etc. Drawbacks This tweak changes the flare color/look slightly, but they still look good IMO. Restoring to Original Just restore your saved files from the backup folder created in step 2 above. Credit to: Gryzor22x on the Ubi Forums LandLodDistance tweak Symptoms: General FPS Issues WorkAround 1. Browse to \config folder 2. Copy the graphics.cfg file to graphics.cfg.org to make a backup of the file 3. Browse down to the LandLodDistances entry. It should look like this: LandLodDistances { LandDay { L01 = 10000; L12 = 40000; } 4. The 2 entries we want to tweak are the L01 and L12 settings. You will have to tweak them to get a good balance of eye candy to FPS boost, but I found the following was a good balance for my rig: L01 = 9000; L12 = 25000; 5. Save the file 6. Test the settings, then tweak as needed until you get a good balance of graphics and performance. Drawbacks This tweak changes the terrain tiles detail and does make things not as detailed. This is mitigated some by using Advanced Haze instead of Basic. It's a good tweak for those of use that don't have the top of the line system and need a few FPS to make things smoother. Restoring to Original Original settings are: L01 = 10000; L12 = 40000; Credit to: JeroenLockedOn on the Ubi Forums XP priority tweak 1: Right-click on the shortcut for lomac and choose "properties" 2:in the target line write: C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "runhigh" /high "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\LockOn.exe Note!: if you have installed either Lomac or winXP to a different directory than i, remember to change the targetline accordingly Quote

ARCHER Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 (edited) think the land detail tweaks LOMAN can do all that for you.... saves all the hassle of messing with CFG files Edited January 3, 2004 by ARCHER Quote
PRecog Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 Madjeff, people seem to be having success with this tweak over at SimHQ: http://oldsite.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/board...c;f=37;t=003906 Quote
BF_LiveWire Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 This was very helpful to me thanks for the info! I also used the LoMan program and find that very helpful in tweeking my setings as well.. Quote

Nesher Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 anyone know how to get that XP TWIK to my desktop? I can't type it right no matter how I try! C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "runhigh" /high "{full route of the LockOn.exe file}\LockOn.exe other than that don't change anything hope it helped, Cheers B) Quote
Gyre Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 I've tried the "high priority" mod using my XP system. My experience is that it doesn't change anything except the stability (which is decreased AFAIK). Any different opinions about it? Gyre Quote
Nesher Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 it helps a lot !! for me anyway... and probably for other people with wick graphic card Quote
Gyre Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 it helps a lot !! for me anyway...and probably for other people with wick graphic card OO, Maybe you can tell me what improved and I'll know what to look for. It's entirely possible that it does improve performance but it's something that either I wasn't having a problem with before or that, not something I was paying any attention to. I'm just like everybody else here; looking for anything that will increase perf in LOMAC! BTW: I'm running a P43.06 on a gig of 1066 rambus w/9700 pro. Gyre Quote
Nesher Posted February 29, 2004 Posted February 29, 2004 it improved the FPS in the A-10 mission before the twick i had 1-0 FPS after i had 20+ FPS and in general it improved the FPS in other mission ;) Quote
