Viggen Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Made a little single mission so I could zip around SoCal. Mission loads. I take off, and I see blue, black, and pink/purple clouds? What's up with that? White clouds have wierd dots in them too. And finally, is the sky, with lines cutting it up. What's going on here?
+Baltika Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Looks like you are 16-bit rather than 32-bit colour mode
+Baltika Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Also in game, Options/Video/display resolution. set to 1600x1200x32, or whatever, rather than AAAxBBBx16
+Wrench Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 And stop dropping Acid!!!! Drugs are bad, mmkay??? wrench kevin stein
Viggen Posted June 28, 2009 Author Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) K Wrench Well, the sky isn't broken anymore. But my clouds are still messed up. To add to that, I just finished a mission and had a graphicsengine.dll related CTD. Perhaps those two are related? Edited June 28, 2009 by Viggen
+Wrench Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Does the terrain have an _EnvironmentalSystem.ini in the folder?? If so, try renaming it, or commenting out the line in the terrain's main ini. See if it makes a difference (meaning: I just experienced this the other day -exact same bad-trip clouds, deleted the envirosys ini,and the problem went away). Also, if the envirsys ini is post-patch in a pre-patch terrrain or game install, it'll do the same wrench kevin stein
Viggen Posted June 28, 2009 Author Posted June 28, 2009 Alright just renamed that ini. It's your SoCal terrain, Wrench, I'm flying it at the 06 level. It should be ok now though. If I do have anymore trippin' clouds or CTDs, I'll report it here.
+Wrench Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Got it! That's because the envirosys is an 08 level ini; makes a difference. So's the data ini, happened on the last upgrade I did on it. Also, if you get the "purple haze" again, PLEASE share what you're smoking with the rest of us!!! wrench kevin stein
fougamagister Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Just to say that I have the same issue, I probably take the same drug as Viggen's one ;)
