Yesterday I climbed into an Alb. D.V (sorry Olham) who was climbing and turning away from me. It was basically a pancake. I sent a long burst into his cockpit, and then I heard (for the first time) "Aauuggghhh". He crashed soon after that. Previously, I thought I had hit the pilots before.

So is this right: If you dont hear the scream, you didnt hit the pilot?

Also, is there a way to jump out of the plane, like in old RB3? I'd rather take my chances sometimes, than burn

You won't always hear a scream often you are too far away to hear. Also it depends on how badly hit he is.

There are settings in the workshop for "hollywood" sounds then you may hear it more and your engine less, or you can go for realistic and mostly hear your engine above all else.

Parachutes did exist earlier, but were only supplied late in the war (at least on German side).

It is pretty cynical. First pilots didn't get them, cause high command was afraid, they'd give up

the expensive crates too easily. Later in the war, German pilots got rare - now they got them!

But those chutes were rather badly packed, it seems. Several pilots died, cause they wouldn't

come out.

Here in Minnesota we build airplanes that have a parachute. The Cirrus Co. in Duluth. When I was with 3M we were working with Cirrus on the composite material used for the structure.
