Question: Why is it...?

This has probably been covered before so pardon me for repeating this question if that is the case.

 

So, why are the aces always in flight #1 and the player in flight #2 with the other stooges? Can the player ever fly with the aces or is this some sort of game limitation that we must live with?

Currently the latter. Aces need their individual historically accurate aircraft texture. The player's flight all use the same texture.

Oh, that's how you work around that issue (sucks that CFS3 did not have an individual skin option like IL-2 or more recent sims).

 

Any chance that you talented guys will figure out how to allow ace skins, default skins for the rank and file and custom skins for the player in P4?

and had missions with both Richthofens, Allmenröder and other aces in flight 1.

You know what I did? I just followed them at their flight path, and didn't care about mine.

Try it out - Winder will NOT come jumping at you from behind a bush or cloud.

A couple dys go I got into a wild melee with flights joining in from both sides

Got separated from my wingies and fought my way out

There were still scattered bogies about so I climbed and started looking for my M8's

 

Eventually found 1 of me buddies down low being buzzed by 3 Camels

Dove in and we had an intense battle, finally winning the day

My compatriot turned out to be Caspar Schmidt, the rightful owner of my skin

As an ace from A Flight, he fought very very well

Seems my B Flight buddies never fought this good

While I'm not suggesting that you will do it, after the cloud turbulance fix I'm confident that given enough time you guys can do just about anything with OFF. Endless talent, dedication, passion and creativity seems to be the defining traits for you folks and a growing number of us certainly do appreciate it. I'm sure whatever you do end up coming up with for P4 will be just mind blowing.
