Yeah baby!!

Ed if you need the Detail and Scale book, I can zip it up and post a link for you. Has some fantastic interior shots, to say nothing of the hardpoints for the various weapons fits.

USN skins are gonna be SOOOOOOOO easy for these!!! Only 2 to choose from!! :grin:

"You can have any color you want, as long as in NS Blue over Gray or Black!!!!!"

A nice FAA 2tone scheme would good too...Lloyd, I'm sure, will take care of RAAF and RNZAF for us

I'll get the book zipped and uploaded as soon as I can.

Can I request internal mapping too please? A lot of interior shows through those blisters and cockpit....

You gotta love the Detal & Scale series ... those and the "Aero Detail" from Japan. Worth their weight in gold-pressed latnium for plactic modelers, and gamers!

Hi !

I have some problems with the PBY Catalina.

I'm running a WOE/V install level 06.

There is no yaw control when I take off and fly while, when the plane is taxying, the yaw control works with the nose gear.

The rudder doesn't move at all and there's no flaps moving either.

Both rudder and flaps appear in the PBY_data.ini and I checked to fly within the 128 max speed limit control (knots?).

Anyway the rudder doesn't move when grounded at 0 knt.

Is there something not combatible with my install?

The flaps don't move becasue they aren't "cut" from the wing mesh. Meaning, they are 'virtual' flaps that only exist in the data ini, and not as a physically moving part. Physical moving parts aren't really necessary (look at Wolf's P-38s -- there are NO moving surfaces, but the aircraft still flys quite well!)

As to the rudder, I can't say, as I haven't flown it yet (been up to my ears with terrain mods).

I'll give it a look as soon as I can.

About flaps, after viewing google Catalina pictures and youtube Catalina take off and landing, it doesn't seem to me there's any flaps on this machine.

Am I right?

I've checked on other websites and some do affirm "the PBY have no flaps".

Yup, just scrolled through the entire damn D&S book.... page 63 "Wing Details" PBYs didn't have flaps. Proably to prevent damage from water spray.

I still haven't figured out the rudder issue yet...gotta be something in the data ini I'm just missing.

I've changed something about the weapons stations in the data.ini

The "pontoons trick" does interfere with the loadout.

[Pontoons]

SystemType=WEAPON_STATION

StationID=1 -->StationID=5

StationGroupID=1 -->StationGroupID=3

StationType=INTERNAL

BombBayAnimationID=8

BombBayOpenTime=2.0

BombBayCloseTime=2.0

And I've changed the "NGun1" entry to "NGun".

Very pleasant to fly, I like it!
