Excellent pics, Olham. Good DFW photos seem to be very rare, especially when you consider that it was a great 2-seater, popular with the pilots and the most produced German aircraft of the war. And it's a pleasure to fly in OFF, too, and if you stay high, no Allied fighter will ever get you. Bomben los! :drinks:

Great pics Olham, I've never seen either of these before. And notice that very high gloss finish on the wings in the second picture, almost like a mirror.

Thanks for sharing Sir.

Yes, that glossy finish could just be clear varnish. After cleaning the surfaces a lot,

or after surface damage, they may have overpainted them with a new coat?

Also, the lacquer paint used by Germany in WWI and WWII had a "sheen" to it until it weathered a bit in the elements. Lacquer paint also likes to shine when rubbed down, especially with rubbing compound. My old 1965 Mustang was painted with lacquer, and it oxidized and dulled. A little rubbing compound and elbow grease, and it looked like it did right out of the booth.

Great pics...just looking at those guys, makes you stop and think what experiences they are/were having at the time of the Photo Shoot!...were they taken before a mission?..or after?.....if before, did they ever get back alive?....ooo..sends shivers up ya spine so it does!

Exactly, Widowmaker. And notice that cross somebody has drawn above the observer in the lower picture? I wonder what it means.

Yep - it could mean: this is me, the one with the cross. Or: this observer is dead...
