UK_Widowmaker 571 Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) Just looking through some of my Dad's old stuff...came across the name of my Grandfather (Walter)...did a quick search...and found this. Well it's better to think he was on leave... Anyway it must have been hard times for your grandma. Regardless of the circumstances, it must have been awful for the Wives and Children...I cannot imagine leaving mine, and how they would react..or how I would. And it does bring the war, even though it's now a very distant, and for many people, practically a forgotten war, much closer when you know your family also lost somebody.
