jomni Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Hi. I'm currently having an ebook craze. Any good aviation fiction / history books to recommend (Cold War or Modern era)? Quote
DWCAce Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Grab 'Boyd: The Fighter Pilot Who Changed The Art of War" (or something to that effect) Quote
Derk Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I've said it before in these forums: "F4 Phantom, a Pilots Story" by Robert Prest, second hand easily obtainable. A great look at the RAF in the '70 's and the European NATO scene as well as the the UK Phantom's . Don't know if it's available as an e book, but ABE books, Amazon and E Bay have plenty available.... It's really worth having, being written by an operational pilot. For reviews just Google it up + some extra assesments on the book and the British F4 on http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-326506.html Hou doe, Derk Quote

Its a great book describing what pilots in USA had to go trough in the beginning of the vietnam war before the Top Gun school was created. Quote
DWCAce Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 (edited) I own and have read both. Good reads! You'll also want to read 'Black Aces High' by the same author. Edited May 26, 2010 by DWCAce Quote
JediMaster Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 FYI there's a sticky thread at the top of this forum for this very purpose. Quote
