Icarus999 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I like the idea of a 1983 Bering strait campaign... would also like a Formosa campaign that spanned into the eighties. Quote
MoonGoose Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 im up for some soviet sides coldwar campaigns... also im planning to do a campaign in formosa with modern fighters (1990-present) but im lacking aircraft models... i got Su-27SK, Su-27SM, Su-30, Su-30K, Su-30KN, Su-30MKI, Su-35, EF-2000, Jas Gripen, F-15E-J-DJ-K-SE, some modern migs, some F-16, F-35, hornets. i modified a old NF4 campaign in a Soviet side campaign but never polished that... was nice to play the campaigns from the other side... you really feel what was the USAF superiority. was really hard to take down four F-15s even with eight mig-21s. Lexx_Luthor Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Two ideas I've been suggesting a bit, but I'm doing nothing with these as I'm working my Ring Of Fire campaign, and will be for another 20 years it seems. (1) Kamchatka, as it has amazing terrain generated by TE() (2) South Pacific about 1958 to 1962. China manpower backed by Soviet aviation follow the general script of the Japanese in December 1941 and early 1942. Very mountainous terrain. Lots of opportunity for NAVY and RN/RAF. The short ranges of alot of unrefueled Soviet fighters will hurt them, totally opposite of the long range advantage of A6M2 for Japan in early 1942. So, Yak-25 as primary escort fighter? 1958-1962 has the best mix of ancient subsonic and Mach 2 with alot of stuff in between, and basic early SAMs. I promised Charles I'd make some active volcanoes for his Timor campaign, but I got only half way done. Old 1500 "sf" kilometer test map of this region, can be made much larger: Quote
