vyrago Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Hi everyone. I need some suggestions. I'd like to get my friends into some WWI air combat action, but they arent really into flight simulation games. But they are big boardgame/cardgame nerds. Now, I only know of 2 games that might fit the bill: Wings of War: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=24 and Down in Flames WWI: http://www.dvg.com/.sc/ms/dd/ee/7/Down%20In%20Flames%20WWI Is there perhaps one I havent heard of?
+Olham Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Here is a Dawn Patrol image gallery. But hey: work on your friends and tell 'em: every good pilot is needed Over Flanders Fields. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/images/boardgame/4014/dawn-patrol
Heck Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Not a boardgame, but the rules can be played that way: http://www.eaglesmax.com/ and it's free.
NS13Jarhead Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 (edited) It's about 40 years old, but Richtofen's War kept me fairly entertained when I was a kid and sparked my interest in WWI. It even models torque effects on turning. But at age 10 I never could understand why an airplane should turn better to one direction than to another. Edited September 4, 2010 by NS13Jarhead
Hellshade Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 As a kid I absolutely loved Dogfight! I played it for hours. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1509/dogfight Hellshade
+Olham Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 You lucky Americans - in Germany we didn't have all this!
+Polovski Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 There's also Wings over France and that has a computer version too - although the graphics are awful even with a few mods - game is still addictive and has some nice authentic detail and touches in there.
