+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I have found an interresting russian prototype, a douubleseater interceptor with two engines behind eachother. But I couldn`t find any technical drawings or pics which shows the backpart of this bird. Cause I`m interested in the design they have used, a realy ugly bird but from the technical point of view quiet interesting. Do someone has some infos abot it? Or pics? Quote

+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Thanks there is one Pic I haven`t seen yet but I couldn`t find one about the engines and the back of the aircraft Quote
Gr.Viper Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 You should know airwar.ru by now http://www.airwar.ru/enc/fighter/la200.html The exhaust of the front engine is in the middle of the belly - not at the back. Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Oh yes I see it, sorry for my ignorance, I couldn`identify the position ?! Thanks Viper Very cool design Quote
Lexx_Luthor Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) Fantastic airplane, and apparently, waaaaay better than MiG's rushed attempt at the same requirement. If you wish, czech out Yefim Gordon's Lavochkin's Last Jets - Red Star Vol 32. Some amazing in-cockpit photos. Also, details of La's early afterburner (La pwn Yak) ...and La-15, and most amazing La-190. This is one of the more fascinating books in the series. Edited November 10, 2010 by Lexx_Luthor Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 Hope there is a PDF somewhere Quote
Lexx_Luthor Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) PDF hurts. Its worth buying the real thing. I've got Yefim's entire series dealing with PVO types, and many others too. Never thought I'd see books on this stuff, ever. The Red-Star/Midland/Aerofax softback constructions are extremely durable, superbly edited, with readable yet fine print, and packed with info and testing history that even a Trekkie can applaud. Even a step above Yefim's books are the Aerofax B-58 by Jay Miller, and the Aerofax SR-71. These are the most Trekkie books I've seen yet, with possible exception of Specialty Press XB-70 but I've not really looked at it yet except the chapter on Mach 3 70k feet bombing and nav systems. Mind blowing. Get them all. ....XB-70 not -71 lol Edited November 11, 2010 by Lexx_Luthor Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Don`t know why, but I like those early russian prototypes, maybe someone likes them too. They have a very rough apperance, nice and interresting design. When a Blinder comes along, or a the early MiG`s, even the Yak`s 25 and 28`s have a great look in the air. The La-200 is one of the very interesting two seat, no tandem interceptor designs of the early soviet airforce years. Quote
Lexx_Luthor Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Woa, that is Awsim. That's the early version. Love it. :good: As for good looks, czech out the La-190, just for czeching out purposes, since the -190's engine was a failure. Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 I have no pics of the 190, was searching the sites I know, there is even no pic of it at wiki. The La-200 existed in 3 versions, one early like you can see it on the screen, one B version with 3 intakes for 2 Engines and one with a bit different Noseintake. early stages of this cool bird Quote
Lexx_Luthor Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Yea that's the early version. That is a cool bird indeed; very well engineered. Get Yefim's book. Shucks I'll buy it for ya its about 30$ at TEH AMAZON just PM me. It has fantastic cockpit shots using test coordinates, and stuph on other La jets. La-190:: French site on La jets ~> http://xplanes.free.fr/lavo/arl-11.html , works well with BabelFish complete web page translator. Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 Thanks Lexx, this site was new to me, you don`t need to buy it for me, if you have it, just scan some pics of the pit, if you don`t have it, it doesn`t matter I thank you for your interest! I will finish it! Quote
+NGHENGO Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Well done, after that you may take over his direct competitor....................It's a "really beauty" no? Quote
+Spillone104 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Really nice job on that La-200!!! As I like too most of the early jet designs of that era. I think that the first Su-15 was one of the most "british" planes of the soviets. Reminds me something because of the asimmetric disposition of cockpit and engines. My other favourite is the Yak-50. Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 Seems here is more interrest in the early soviet jet design than I thought?! The Yak 50 is a beauty! Quote
+NGHENGO Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Yep....I think that they could appear in some fictional scenario to attach to the Mig Alley Histrics one........ Mau. Quote
Lexx_Luthor Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Yak-50 was a monster, far outperforming the lower quality MiG-15 and -17, and was designed for night ops from the start, but MiG was cheap and a bit earlier. Yak almost made it with this. Yak-50, 3 pages ~> http://prototypes.free.fr/yak50/yak50-1.htm The pot of these early prototypes were all far more advanced than MiG's stuff, and potentially the best fighters of their time, as they all used the the greatest engine of the time in high quality airframes. That DogSabre~esque 1951 Su-15, among others ~> http://prototypes.free.fr/t6/t6-1e.htm SOME of these pages have more than one page. Use the little blue arrow boxes to nav between sub-pages. Its a very difficult site to navigate, but works well with BabelFish online translator. More... MiG prototypes ~> http://prototypes.free.fr/ye8/ye8-1.htm Soviet Rocket planes ~> http://xplanes.free.fr/florov/afr-1.html Ramjets, endless reading here ~> http://xplanes.free.fr/stato/stato-1.html Fairey Delta ~> http://prototypes.free.fr/fd2/fd2-1.htm Quote

+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 I like the desing and the plane, those "prototypes" are objects for me to learn more about UV Mapping and other stuff in 3D Max, so Ye-152A,M and La-200A,B,C and Yak-50 Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 The L-200 is now in JAT`s hands, I asked him for some FM help, cause I have no idea about this work. Mapping and skinning will be done I htink after Xmax. First release will be the A version after this the work will continue in the 152 A and later the M. Quote
