Horrible Frame Rates over North Vietnam

Recommended Posts

H all,

I have just started playing and F-111 campaign in SF2:V with the ground war expansion pack but have run into a snag. When I get over the target(IE: Hanoi, Hai Phong ect.) with everything in the world firing at me I get about 4FPS! :blink: Over most other parts of the map, I get 50-60 plus! Im not sure if its all the flack causing it or what, but I seem to get better frames over Berlin and such in SF2E.

My computer specs:

Nvidia GTX260

Intel Duo 3.61GHz

Samsung 2233SW 23inch monitor running at 1920:1080 res.

Here is my options ini:

[GraphicsOptions]

DisplayDeviceID=0

DisplayWidth=1920

DisplayHeight=1080

DisplayDepth=32

AspectRatio=1.777778

AntiAliasing=4

[soundOptions]

I am really stumped by this, all other games I play I get 80 plus FPS,

Thanks,

All the "other games" you're running are undoubtedly not as CPU intensive as Third Wire's titles. Lower the Horizon distance to normal in the options panel, that'll increase frame rates. The other thing is, why are you forcing DX9? Are you running Windows XP? All the SF2 titles (patched to the latest versions) run a lot faster under DX10.

I forgot to mention that I am using XP Professional with DX9. Thats why it says Im forcing DX9.

on a similar topic i am noticing that the graphis are slower in my SF2V, and a bit strectched. I have all but the original SF2 merged and this only comes up with the exe. for the SF2V specific one. the ones for SF2E, I, EXP1, and Nato Fighters work fine. now granted my Vietnam install is more for testing than anything else but still its wierd. runnin Vista, built in card of a Compaq Presario C700

What mods do you have? the more SAMs, AAA firing the more it will hit the FR. If you have Green Hell with lots of trees that will also bring things down.

In Linebacker II you get massive strike packages with loads of SAM/AAA - you need a very good rig to run that with high gfx settings.

You need to compromise your in-game and card settings until you hit a happy medium for you.

Interestingly enough, Im doing the F-111 Linebacker II campaign! That must be my problem because on every other campaign, I get very good FPS. Should I get rid of the B-52 strikes in Linebacker II?

Thanks!
