Dave63 Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Unless they change it in the new 3.0 version, yes. The 2.01 version has HSFX 4.0. The newest HSFX version is 5.0. Quote

+Stary Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 The newest HSFX is 5.01, stand alone for 4.10.1m, BUT Ultra Pack 3.0 is sheduled for next week or so... having two installs, one UP 2.01 the other HSFX 5.01, I tend to fly UP one more, matter of more visual mods that makes the maps and effects attractive and up to todays standards Quote

Dave63 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 That is the only read me that's been posted so far. It was to be considered a beta. It may still be included. If not, very simple to install! Quote

I want install basic 1946 install. -how many patch do i install? Go to M4T and download the new all inclusive patch that will update any basic 1946 install to 4.01 -is the UP a single download or a multi download? Single download, usually a torrent at first. -Is there a tutorial to install it properly? Yes, on the UP site, there is a section called "Pappy's install guide" that will walk you through the process! Any help is ever appreciated! TX3RN0BILL Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Go to M4T and download the new all inclusive patch that will update any basic 1946 install to 4.01 I thought the most recent patch version was 4.10.1m? Quote
Dave63 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I thought the most recent patch version was 4.10.1m? yes, pardon my dyslexic fingers, it is indeed 4.10.1M! Quote
TX3RN0BILL Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Are the addons really must-haves, or are there still people playing vanilla 4.10.1m online? I've read that addons can be a burden on performance... Quote
Dave63 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 That depends on what you define as must haves. For example there are fixes for AA so they don't see and shoot through clouds. There are fixes so the AI rear turret gunners are no longer deadly snipers that will hit you in the eye at 800 meters. If those are must haves, then yes! Most add ons, other than some of the effects packages, are not graphic intensive, IMO. UP gives you the option of loading up 4.10.1m as an option anyway. I have separate installs for HSFX, UP, Stock (sort of) and Histomod, but that's just in case I mess something up so I don't bork a HUGE install! Plus I got a big hard drive! Quote
TX3RN0BILL Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I see... well, I just installed it yesterday after having downloaded it on sunday from GOG, it's patched up to 4.10m... although I did download the M4T megapatch to 4.10.1m, I was wondering if there wasn't some small patch available - or doesn't it say that it would be patched up to 4.10.1m? Also, I'm wondering why the game assumes that the throttle control on my HOTAS is valid for one engine only instead of for all - haven't figured out how to configure that... any thoughts on how to do it? Still got a crappy Speedlink Black Widow, but I'm wanting to upgrade it for a T-Master HOTAS X... Quote

It should say on the bottom left of the loading screen where the percentage shows when it's loading. In your realism settings, have you selected separate engine management (I can't recall exactly what it's called), by chance? You have gone all the way down to the bottom of the control assignments to the Hotas section and assigned the axis to throttle? If it's not one of those two, I'm out of airspeed and ideas! Quote

You have gone all the way down to the bottom of the control assignments to the Hotas section and assigned the axis to throttle? If it's not one of those two, I'm out of airspeed and ideas! I've managed to find a small 4.10.1m patch, gonna apply it, see if it works, though I didn't find the version reference during the loading screen as you indicated... oh well... As for the engine management, I've had it disabled, enabled it to see if there was any difference, but in the HOTAS axis assignment menu you can only assign it to the settings of one engine... as throttle increase and decrease by throttle control of HOTAS doesn't seem to be possible for all, I think... And my current HOTAS doesn't have key emulation so I can't work around it that way... maybe the new patch will help, but in any case the new HOTAS will... Quote
TX3RN0BILL Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Throttle issue solved and more... oh my... have it all patched and been flying these last 3 days, my WW2 online flight simming debut, and I'm learning something new every day... the cutest thing I had to do was to hand-crank my landing gear up in an F4F - at first I was in despair because the normal raise gear key didn't work but thankfully the people from Ukdedicated1 server are patient and helpful towards noobs... yeah yeah I know I didn't rtfm and my last experience from WW2 flight simming dated back to Aces over Europe, so there's some new stuff getting used to... I kinda like vanilla for now and since there are still people flying online I think I'll be happy with that for now until I feel like something more challenging... Must say I've become a fan of the multi-prop and single-jet planes... but I have to remind myself to keep flying axis cause I'm used to red being the enemy lol... Where do you folks fly online? Anybody else flying vanilla patched up like me? Quote
Dave63 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 I don't "on-line" but I'm sure that others might! Glad you got it sorted! Quote
