White A-6A No textures

Hello All,

 

This problem has probably been addressed somewhere but I cannot seem to find it. If someone could lead me to it, I would be most appreciative.

 

Here's what I have.....I uplaoded the RAZBAM A-6A as my WOE default Intruder. When I fly single missions the Intruder looks great! However, when I fly it in the "Campaign" mode, the aircraft shows up white. Animations work fine but there is no color or texture what-so-ever. In the external mode, you can see the Aviator and the B/N but everything surrounding them is white including their seats. Weapons show up in the proper colors and textures. The texture for the RAZBAM bird is the VA-75 "Sunday Punchers" scheme. Is this the default WOE campaign scheme? And if not, could this be the problem?

Need more info. What Campaign Are you flying? Do you have a merged SF1/WOV/WOE? WOI? Are you flying a stock Campaign or a addon??

If its fine in single missions you may have to edit the squadron in the campaigns data ini file to use one of the razbam skins - or copy and rename one of the Razbam skins to USNGrey or what ever the stock one uses.

I am flying a stock version of Wings Over Vietnam. This is my pristine Vietnam version with a few aircraft add-ons but my campaigns are all stock!

I will try to edit the squadron with the stock game one but I cannot seem to remember what the data.ini file line should read. If yu remember what it is can you send it to me? In the mean time, I will search my external drives to see if I have it there!

I went in and checked my file in my WoV game for the A-6A in Campaign mode. Here is what I hav...

UnitName=VA-75 Sunday Punchers

It looks correct with all the other files.

 

I will post more as I discover where my error might be. Thank you for the Knowledge base information as well. That is sending me on the right path.

Does the texture set name (in the A-6A.ini file) precisely match that of the "UnitName" entry?

No.....lol

 

I've just checked one of my old installs, and found that the Razabam A-6A does NOT have a VA-75 texture, so that's why it loads sans textures.

 

You'll need to edit the "UnitName" entry to match one of the 3 texture sets that the Razbam Intruder A comes with (VA-165 boomers, VMA-121, or VA-52).

Roger that Raven....

 

I changed Linebacker I to VA-165.

 

I will change the other two campaigns as well. I will see if that works. As Papa Smurf mentioned the RAZBAM skin does not have a VA-75 equivalent.

I extracted the WOVCAMPL1_DATA.ini from the Missiondata.cat and searched for A-6A's, there are a lot of A-6A listings (VA-35,VA-115,ect.) Lots of editing or Skinning. I'll have to do the same I'm using Monty CZ's A-6A.( I turned the stock one in to a B.) Also I saw a Xed out listing for a E to check into.

So I extract WOVCAMPL1_DATA.ini from the Missiondata.cat file and replace VA-75 with VA-165?

 

After I do that will it map to my A-6A?

I have the SFP-1 Extraction tool....I used to know how to get to the 'cat'files but I cannot seemto remember how.

 

Can you assist?

Havnt used that for years - cant you just do a file->open?

 

You need to open MissionData.cat in C:\...\WingsOverVietnam\flight

 

 

The extracted file would then need to go in C:\...\WingsOverVietnam\Campaigns\Linebacker1\

Launch the Extract program, find your WOV Flight folder,open the MissionData.cat,Extract the WOVCAMPL1_DATA.ini, Or just go to the WOV Flight folder and Double click the Cat file, the cat extractor should launch, tell it open the misiondata.cat Extract the ini, I think that after the ini’s are edited they should go in the Campaign folder. Just a note I just bought the Razban A-6 ,So far I don’t like the no decals. I’ll have to strip a copy of a skin and try to use the WOV stock decals, and replace the USN and USMC stock skin folders. I think it’s the simplest way to put the aircraft into the Campaign Without the headache of Naked A-6’s popping up in other Camp’s or missions. I’ll have to check into the skin copyright if I want to upload it. Sorry if I’m a little long winded on open file stuff.

Thank you for your help. Matching the Squadron names to the RAZBAM textures worked! I forgot to change the squadron designator on the loading page. Once I did that, everything worked great. Now I am off to take out some targets up North!
