Vampyre Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) One of the ATAC KFir's has crashed in Fallon. Sadly the pilot did not make it. Condolences to the pilots family. http://www.kolotv.com/localnews/headlines/NAS_Fallon_Reports_Plane_Crash_141617403.html Edited March 7, 2012 by Vampyre
B52STRATO Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Terrible news... I thought the F-21 fleet out of service. All my condolences.
+SayethWhaaaa Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) No, ATAC had (I think) 3 in service, a couple of Hawker Hunters, some A-4Ns (not sure how many) and a family model Draken at one point. I've heard Kfirs can be quite difficult to fly at the best of times, requiring a lot of pilot attention. Poor guy. Edited March 7, 2012 by ZmelliFahrdz
Nesher Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 sad news indeed but the headline seem a bit weird to me
+whiteknight06604 Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 sad day ,it does strike me as odd they would mention it was an Israeli made jet about 20 times though
+DWCAce Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I know via FB who it is (didn't personally know him), but won't mention the name yet
MAKO69 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 (edited) Terrible news... I thought the F-21 fleet out of service. All my condolences. Not good, thoughts and prayers. The US NAVY returned thier F-21s back to IAF in 1989. This was not an F-21 this was a former IAF Kfir, but it may still be refered to as an "F-21" by US military members. I believe that ATAC only has L-39, Kfir, and Hawker Hunters in their inventory now. Edited March 8, 2012 by MAKO69
