Terrible news... I thought the F-21 fleet out of service. All my condolences.

No, ATAC had (I think) 3 in service, a couple of Hawker Hunters, some A-4Ns (not sure how many) and a family model Draken at one point. I've heard Kfirs can be quite difficult to fly at the best of times, requiring a lot of pilot attention. Poor guy.

sad day ,it does strike me as odd they would mention it was an Israeli made jet about 20 times though

Not good, thoughts and prayers.

 

The US NAVY returned thier F-21s back to IAF in 1989. This was not an F-21 this was a former IAF Kfir, but it may still be refered to as an "F-21" by US military members. I believe that ATAC only has L-39, Kfir, and Hawker Hunters in their inventory now.
