18 Water maps for enabling ships on your seas!

************************************************

How to Install.

Copy the BMP file for the terrain you want into the terrain map.

e.g. DBS_Water.bmp into the DBS folder.

Make sure that in the DBS.INI the line "WaterMap=DBS_Water.bmp"

(WITHOUT THE QUOTES!!!)

is there under the [Terrain] section!

Also under the [Terrain] section make sure you have:

NavalMap=TRUE

If all that is done, and that's all to it, then you should be able to take off

in your F-14 from the carrier on the sea on that map.

(I hope this is clear) :blink:

My best regards, Kodiak.

:salute:

Just a note: The "Enemy territory" in the Sweden map is actually sandwitched between two of the Allied Nations. Getting in there with ships is pretty much begging to die.

Let the "enemy" water map follow the soviet border instead. Here is TSF Water map: Sweden_Water.rar

I'd also rethink the IR water .. no BG commander worth his stars is gonna pin his boats that far up the Gulf...they'd stay down near the UAE where there's plenty of sea room

same thing with Libya... the enemy should be down more in the Gulf of Sidra (with maybe one between Greece and N.Africa) NATO pretty much owns the Med!

as for cuba (I know that map is NOT for OTC...but more like the one below (nearly historical placements)

a couple also have the 'regions' too clsoe to The Wall (Darwin example- that western bad guy zone)

meant greece, not crete!

Find! In custom scenarios You have to add this line too:

NavalMap=TRUE

I need to do this in Desert terrain, too. Germanyce doesn't work anyway.

.... just don't forget adding a carrier capable navy (es USN or ROYALNAVY) to Your Germanyce_nations.ini The same in Sweden

Very well done :good:

Thanks a lot for this, Kodiak! All of the watermaps are working great for me, but there's a strange bug that I'm seeing with Soviet ships in Germany sometimes:

LOL.

Doesn't seem to happen in any of the other terrains (stock or third party). Any idea what's causing this?

I have the same problem. All maps work fine, except the GermanyCE, where usually Soviet ships appear on land, and not on water.

I don't know why... :dntknw:

Version 1.02 released some time ago.

Check 'em. :blink:

Better layouts for the ship areas!

Also NO enemy ship area's anymore in IsraelME and VietnamSEA, you can still launch from a carrier on those maps and attack ground targets but no enemy fleet on those maps. (I think that is more realistic) If you still want enemy ships on those maps please keep the old watermaps for those terrains.

My best regards, Kodiak.

I'm using the 1.02 version for GermanyCE, and it's still giving me Soviet Land Carriers. Sorry, I'm sure you're tired of fixing bugs by now... dntknw.gif

The watermap is based on the one extracted from the .cat file, right? Maybe there's a problem with the original, and we're only noticing it now that the game can spawn task forces on that map.
