Fire 2ndary guns not working?

been working on the Mosquito's, and I've been noticing my wingmates ONLY using the 303 MGs, and not the 20mms

 

the MGs are set as Primary Gun, and cannon as 2ndary (which might be flip-flopped for FB6s)

 

has anyone else noticed this glicth?

Cause I sure hate to group them together as Primary Gun (which might be the alternative, although the ballistics are different...)

 

also, a question of "Gun Groups"

 

if I assign them, say the MGs as GunGroup=2 and cannon as 1, would that make a difference? Or work at all?

and how exactly doe the GunGrouping thingy work?

then why for example MIG-15 uses both types at once? or is it set as same group in ini? Both 23 and 37 mm guns? I usually set myself such as individual groups, but haven't paid attention to how AI then uses them

bummer as I NEED separate groups selections for some planes

 

(I know, 99.999% flies Sabres these days :wink: )

thats 2 different things

 

the trigger inputs:

 

InputName=FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN no problems

 

InputName=FIRE_SECONDARY_GUN never worked FOR AI AIRCRAFT since day 1 of SFP1, that was notable on all early SF series 1 games where the AI MiG-17's fired only the 23mm cannons and not the 37mm cannon which was set to FIRE_SECONDARY_GUN

 

Then there is the GunGroup= function

There are no problems with it, the TW F-8 Crusader series is using GunGroups by deault

Each gun can be sorted into a group , example from the Gunval Sabre:

the 4 guns are splilt into 2 Groups ( Group 1 + 2 ) and can be selected via a keyboard command :

( default on my keyboard )

NEXT_GUNGROUP=SEMICOLON

PREV_GUNGROUP=SHIFT+SEMICOLON

 

This gives the option of using either the group 1 guns, or the group 2 guns, or both groups together.

so, since the AI is being exceptionaly uncoooperative, and GunGropes are more for 'ammo saving', the best alternative is to put them all pack to PRIMARY?

 

if that's the case, then, that's the fix.
