Coupi Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) Hello, I propose you a light alternative modification of the beautiful Stary WW2 cockpit for Hellcats. Choose the "MID_WW2_Cockpit" and in the "MID_WW2_Cockpit.ini" file add these lines in order to move these parts. I've moved the mirror and the front canopy and I've deleted the canopy top "connecting bar". Instrument[029]=Move1 Instrument[030]=Move2 Instrument[031]=Move3 Instrument[032]=Move4 [Move1] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=mirror_frame MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-0.23 Set[01].Value=0 Set[02].Position=-0.23 Set[02].Value=0 [Move2] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=canopy_top_connecting_bar MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-8 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-8 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move3] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=front_reinforced_canopy MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-0.060 Set[01].Value=0 Set[02].Position=-0.060 Set[02].Value=0 [Move4] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=canopy_screw15 MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-0.060 Set[01].Value=0 Set[02].Position=-0.060 Set[02].Value=0 Many many thanks Stary for your beautiful stuff! Best regards, Coupi. Edited January 8, 2013 by Coupi
Wrench Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 something wrong with Geo's Hellcat pit?? (not that Stary's pit isn't great...just saying) those 'grab bars' (no hand hold) would never been seen on a Naval aircraft due to 'crash protection' for the pilot ... even during arrested landings there was the danger of hitting one's head on the panel/gunsight. Having THOSE in the way increase the risk of injury
Coupi Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Hello Kevin, Geo's Hellcat cockpit is Good! I've modified the Stary's cockpit because I like to modifiy cockpits... this is very fun to test modification in this game. Thank you for your precision about the 'grab bars' used (or not in the Naval aircraft) in the WWII cockpits. Best regards, Coupi.
Stary Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 geeez, these cockpits are soo dated (to be fair I learned ALOT making those)
Wrench Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 you may think so, but I think they work QUITE well (ok, some insturments need to be working, but overall, they super green!!!)
Stary Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 ok, these weren't meant to be super accurate after all (hence generic) but now I say could be refined
