Lockheed Martin’s Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter and EADS’ Eurofighter Typhoon have been eliminated from the FX-III competition to build South Korea 60 new fighter jetsYonhap News Agencyreports. That leaves Boeing’s F-15 Silent Eagle as the only remaining aircraft vying for the contract.

Citing a source who is familiar with the matter, Yonhap reported on Friday that Lockheed Martin had failed to submit a bid that was within South Korea’s 8.3 trillion won ($7.43 billion) budget, effectively eliminating the F-35 from contention......................

just did a simple calculation for the JSF within the budget, 123-124 million $ per unit sounds like a reasonable price in order to keep the production numbers high

losing bids and cancellation of orders will only increase the price per unit and that's a real shame

 

at least it's good news for Boeing haha :)

Well I don't care for the reasons I just wanted to see this bad boy take it to the skies, uber-Eagle becomes a reality...
