Last saturday Russian Helicopters organized the Open Italian Helicopter Games in Voghera Rivanazzano airport, a small gliderport/general aviation airport in northern Italy.

Special guest, this UTAir EU Mil Mi-171! It was the first time I saw a "Mi-8 family" helicopter!

After its display, it parked behind this Agusta-Bell AB.204 (Italian license-built version of the "father of all Hueys") recently restored by Giorgio Pirovano, a collector who also restored many other helicopetrs, like a Bell 47.

Having contacted the organizers few days before the event, I had the chance to enter the airport. However, this was the area in which the public had to stay. Impossible to see anything!

Unfortunately, this is quite frequent in Italy, a country where spotting is considered a terrorist activity.

And, finally, an off-topic photo... Italian Navy frigate Grecale (F 571), of the Maestrale class, cruising very close to the coastline where I was on vacation for a fallen sailors memorial (there are hills very close to the sea, that's why the ship is seen from above)
