Fubar512 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 And no, this isn't something orchestrated by Terry Gilliam or John Cleese, this happens every day! http://www.wimp.com/indiapakistan/ Quote
Stick Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Yes it does; we also shake hands in the end! Quote
+CrazyhorseB34 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 This is without a doubt one of the most awesome military ceremonies conducted in the world. Thank you for posting this! To mock these professionals, as the commentator did, with "Monty Python" inferences dishonors their loyalty to their country and their devotion to duty. The commentator of the vid should be slapped. SayethWhaaaa Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 It's a walk off... Bowie needs to officiate this. Quote
B52STRATO Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I have heard that Mountain Artillery also fire blank shots every days. But still no Cat Stevens around here. Quote
Lazarus1177 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Happening for years.Requires great amount of coordination and discipline on both sides. Quote

JediMaster Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Why all the spectators? If this happens every day, there's nothing special about it, so why the crush of the crowds? The military stuff I get, I don't get the civilians' presence on either side. Quote

JediMaster Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Honestly, no. It lasts a few minutes at most, how long did they have to travel to get there? Maybe it's just me, I have a fundamental aversion to spending more time to GET somewhere than I will spend AT the destination. I wouldn't drive 2 days each way to spend 1 day at Disney for instance. Then again, I do no understand spectator sports. I cannot fathom how people gain enjoyment from watching OTHER people play a game, either. I might want to play football, but I never want to watch it played. So since my brain isn't wired that way, I don't get this either. Quote
