+RAVEN 414 Posted September 30, 2013 How can I get the game to generate more static sam's? I have 10 in the target .ini and only get two. Have changed to Very-Common, anti-air Heavy, base quantity to 12. Idea?
+Coupi 4,388 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) Hello Raven,Is it for single missions or for campaign? For single missions in the Mission Editor I create new SAM groups.Otherwise it should be interesting to see the parameters in the SF2Vietnam or in the Mod Vietnam War.http://combatace.com/topic/52002-sf2v-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-v20-sep-2013-update/ I remember in WoV skies were very very dangerous... Best regards,Coupi. Edited September 30, 2013 by Coupi
Wrench 9,848 Posted October 1, 2013 the amount of SAMs (or any air defenses for that matter) are set in the terrain's _targets.ini. If said _targets.ini has NO SAMs and their associated radars listed, none will generate.
+RAVEN 414 Posted October 1, 2013 (edited) In the _Target .ini I have listed: Sam's 10 SamRadar 4 EWR 4 And I'm only giting 4, 1 and 2 or less. Sometimes just 1 EWR. I'm going to try renaming them and list them something else. For say ETO the Sam random generation is OK, but I need to get them to show all the time for testing and adjusting launch time / delay. If only 1 Sam shows up it won't launch no matter how many times I "Poke it with a stick". Edited October 1, 2013 by RAVEN
Fubar512 1,350 Posted October 1, 2013 Are you using the default TW deployment scheme? That's six SAM launchers arrayed around one related SAM radar (for example, 6 SA-10L and one Flaplid, or 6 SA-2F and 1 FansongF). The prescense of an EWR doesn't mean anything to the in-game SAM batteries, they are simply there for eye-candy.
+RAVEN 414 Posted October 1, 2013 OK , that's why I'm getting no joy, not using default , going to try a mobile _ Sam or AAA and see what I get?
+RAVEN 414 Posted October 1, 2013 Well it only works as a 'SamLauncher' and I got 1 Natter to launch, but only with a 'SamRadra' on the map and they don't have to be in the 'Default' setting, :)
Wrench 9,848 Posted October 1, 2013 (edited) try this layout, just remove the ActiveYear= lline [TargetArea***] Name= Position= Radius=1000.0 ActiveYear= Location= Alignment=ENEMY Target[001].Type=AAA Target[001].Offset=-292,206 Target[001].Heading=90 Target[002].Type=SAMLauncher Target[002].Offset=-392.00,381.00 Target[002].Heading=330 Target[002].ActiveYear=1959 Target[003].Type=SAMLauncher Target[003].Offset=-192.00,381.00 Target[003].Heading=30 Target[003].ActiveYear=1959 Target[004].Type=SAMLauncher Target[004].Offset=-32.00,140.00 Target[004].Heading=90 Target[004].ActiveYear=1959 Target[005].Type=SAMLauncher Target[005].Offset=-492.00,206.00 Target[005].Heading=270 Target[005].ActiveYear=1959 Target[006].Type=SAMLauncher Target[006].Offset=-192.00,31.00 Target[006].Heading=150 Target[006].ActiveYear=1959 Target[007].Type=SAMLauncher Target[007].Offset=-392.00,31.00 Target[007].Heading=210 Target[008].ActiveYear=1959 Target[008].Type=AAA Target[008].Offset=0.00,0.00 Target[008].Heading=45 Target[002].ActiveYear=0 Target[009].Type=SAMRadar Target[009].Offset=50.00,20.00 Target[009].Heading=90 Target[009].ActiveYear=1959 Target[010].Type=AAA Target[010].Offset=-50.00,20.00 Target[010].Heading=135 Target[010].ActiveYear=0 also, don't forget the "data link" the sam radar TO the SAM (I'm assuming it's the Natter?) [DetectSystem] TargetType=AIR RadarFamilyName=Natter RadarSearchTime=5.0 RadarSearchRange=75000.0 RadarSearchStrength=80 RadarTrackTime=10.0 RadarTrackRange=55000.0 RadarTrackStrength=75 RadarPosition=0.0,0.0,2.30 RadarMinimumRange=6000.0 RadarMaximumAlt=30000.0 RadarMinimumAlt=500.0 RadarSearchFreq=3.0 RadarTrackFreq=3.0 RadarMissileGuidanceFreq=3.0 RadarSearchCW=FALSE RadarTrackCW=FALSE RadarMissileGuidanceCW=FALSE DataLink=TRUE NetworkType=Natter OpticalSight=TRUE NightSight=TRUE VisualRange=2000.0 ViewportPosition=0.0,0.0,2.30 MaxVisibleDistance=8000.0 RadarCrossSection=100 add the NetworkType= to the natter as well also, in 'built' missions", sometimes the game engine will NOT generate all the units of an AD battery; in particular SAM sites. This is a known issue, and has been for QUITE a while (maybe even as far back as the 08 patch. Drives us targets guys bat-shit crazy!) EDIT: in the types ini, the Natter would be listed as SAM_Launcher. in it's data ini, GroundObjectRole=STATIC_SAM Edited October 1, 2013 by Wrench
+RAVEN 414 Posted October 1, 2013 The data I'm using is copied from the SA-2 with ranges (radar) set to the Dora and missile data set to the Natter, Launch time and intercept is now close , they'll only just blowup , but you can't have everything . I'm ready to upload for 06, Still need to test for 08.
