future_tuskegee_airman Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Thanks or sharing! It's interesting that Marty Case said that on landing with the gear down, the vertical afterburner nozzle petals on the F-105 did not all open completely when used as an airbrake. I'm also surprised that he didn't mention the characteristic droop that the bottom vertical afterburner nozzle petal would do when the aircraft was powered down due to the lack of running hydraulic fluid. But great and fascinating information! I hope to incorporate that into my flying. Also great information about the F-4 Phantom 2 as well! I'm now searching Youtube for more actual pilot accounts.
