Note: As a preliminary change log, any and all items listed below are subject to change between now and 1.2.8 release. Additionally, more items may be added between now and release.
 
DCS World
Added Su-25T 6 DOF cockpit.
Added initial Oculus Rift support, this does not include front end GUI yet.
AGM-114L/K: Increased speed to about 1.4M.
TACAN added to Lochini International (25X; TBS).
Corrected detection ranges of ground target by aircraft sensors. This can determine spotting of enemy ground units when Fog of War mode is enabled.
MQ-1 Predator: The radar has been removed.
Corrected wingtips vortex position for flyable aircraft.
Corrected HE warheads for unguided rockets.
SAM Hawk: Decreased altitude detection range from 25 to 22 km. Increased missile battery control time from 60 to 80 seconds.

Hardpoint racks and additional armor can now be disabled.

ADF AN/ARN-83: Audio signal can now be heard in all modes.
Fixed animation of control lamp on flare dispenser control panel.
Fixed side M134 bracket arms clipping with side doors.
Added 3D model for wipers motor in cockpit.
Barrel block of M134 minigun now rotates in correct direction.
Pilot and co-pilot sights are now removed from the "civilian" variant.

FC2 was FC1 + BS1 map + 1.12 patch, or in other words "fairly minor."

 

FC3 has benefited from being in DCS World immensely.

I am seriously loving the AFM of the F-15C. Its just fantastic. No more sticky take offs and landings too.

It might as well be a totally different airplane with the same cockpit/radar of the 15C we had before. Handling totally changed!

Bonus Reward Changes.

 

Today we made several changes to the bonus system that we hope you will all appreciate:
 
 
The customer has the opportunity to receive a bonus for existing orders (paid before February 20th, 2014) pertaining to products participating in the bonus program, with the same rules applied (p.2-3) as under the new order. Customers must use these bonuses prior to January 1st, 2015. Visit: Personal section / My account to register the orders.
 
A product can be paid by use of bonuses no more than 30% (thirty percent) of the full product price. We retain the right to change this percentage at any time and at our discretion.
 
The following rules are applied to bonuses accrued for purchases made after February 20th, 2014: 100% of the bonus will be cancelled without return and/or recovery in case the customer does not make a purchase within one year from the date of the last purchase from the DCS e-shop.

I had already bought everything available when ED gave the last bonuses... and they expired before anything new was released. I pre-paid for the MiG-21bis and DCS:WW2, so that leaves me with the F-86F, but I still have a coupon ED awarded to compensate those who bought the helos at release only to have the price drop dramatically 2 weeks later. I don't mind paying full price to help support ED, but giving me a bonus and then taking it away before I can use it isn't a very smart way to do business!

IMO, ED is scrambling to save some good PR. However, Streak's comments are dead on. These bonus rewards are kind of a joke when they run out before something new is released. By now, most people have what they want as the summer/winter/whenever sales have allowed them to stock up at a discount price.

What ED has repeatedly taught me: You can buy at release for $50, or wait 2-4 weeks and get 20-40% off. So, if you like donating money to ED or just can't wait 2-4 weeks, buy at release. Of course, if you can wait for the next seasonal sale (which might only be another 2-4 weeks away from the first sale), you get 50-80% off. I remember when the original IL-2 hit the shelves in Best Buy. It was $50 and it stayed at that price for YEARS.

 

So, are DCS new release sales so bad that they have to tank the price within a month to get the volume up to a useful level? But it is kind of a chick/egg thing. Once the crowd knows how the pricing scheme is working, they just wait for the drop. By waiting, the release sales are low and ED drops the price quickly. Sounds like a vicious loop that ends with the company going out of business.

 

Maybe they should price their finished and/or beta products like a kickstarter scheme. You can pay the low price and you get the product, but if you pay more, you get a cool forum title, a credit in the game and/or manual, a printed manual, t-shirts, etc. They just better make sure the reward costs less than the increase in payment. Clearly, RRG needed to be told that!

I agree, plus my reward went from 40 dollars the old way to 25 the new way.  I'll take it 'cause it's better than nothing.  I'll use it towards the F-86 if it hasn't expired by then again.

I was planning on using what I had (not much as most of my purchases didn't count for one reason or another) for Nevada, but I think it will all be expired by then. In fact, I haven't even checked to see if I have any left or not to use on anything.

The F-86 is just so appealing to me because its simple, aim, fire guns, no advanced systems to mess with. Also I will dust off my paint brushes and get some skinning done. So yes ED will be getting my money.

For me the F-86 is a buy because it's my favorite airframe from that era (same as the P-51 is for WWII).  Will I fly it often, not once the novelty wears off, but I'll enjoy having it on my ramp.

 

 

 

Now if we could only get an F-4 (Vietnam era) and an F-16 as well as an Apache or modern Cobra (only rotary wing ACFT I have any interest in) I'd be a very happy virtual pilot.
