Spudknocker Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Heyo CA! So in my ever present quest for optimal graphics and fps and the constant conundrum that provides I have a question for any modders more experienced than me... I love the darker/More saturated look of Unlimited Effects is there a way to preserve that while in High Effects? The lighter screen shot is in High with fps of 55-70ish and the darker is with unlimited with FPS of 20-30ish usually hovering at about 29... I dont have a tippy top of the line computer its I7-5500U 16GB of Ram and SSD. Does anyone know how to make that darkened look on high effects? I know SF2 is a 32bit game is there a way to make it use more RAM space to help things along? Quote
+Menrva Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 IIIRC when you choose Unlimited Effects, your graphic card uses DirectX 10 level shaders (in fact you get bloom and other special effects). When on High Effects or less, your graphic card simply uses DirectX 9 shaders, so there is no way to preserve that look you have on Unlimited. This also explains why you have lower FPS when on Unlimited. Most likely your graphic card is not good enough to use DirectX 10 while mantaining a good FPS (the rest of your PC is very good instead, an I7 and 16GB of RAM, it's more than okay). You might want to consider updating the video drivers of your card and see if there is an improvement. If not, consider buying a new and more powerful video card. I have a really bad computer instead, and I usually use Medium Effects or even lower settings sometimes. You can set all Texture related options to Unlimited though, they don't take much FPS and improve the game looks quite a lot. Quote
Spudknocker Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 Ah ok good to know thanks for the info! Very much appreciated, unfortunately I use a lap top so upgrading the graphics card isnt really an option... does anyone know if a USB graphics card connector would work for SF? Quote
