+1977Frenchie Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Following recent great Hi-Viz skins made by pappychcksix, i started do some templates for missing squadrons... I took the VAW-115 first cause i like the skins, but damn i am doing 6 different schemes for it :) Here is a glimpse of one of the WIP I also reworked the 4 already available (with no offense intended to those who did them). If work, family and snow storms can give me a little spare time i might do some work in the coming days (well decals are done but still need some love). 9 1 Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted February 13, 2018 Author Posted February 13, 2018 A little have been done before going to bed, but is there a reference somewhere on how many aircraft by sqn (i know there is 4 on carrier when at sea, but is there some at home base?) and their tail numbers? Quote
Wrench Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I would hazard a guess 18-24 ish per squadron; that's pretty typical for USN squadrons. Dets of 4, as you said, aboard ship, the rest ashore. Modex numbers would be "along those same lines" say, 615-618 afloat, 600-14,19-24 ashore. Or others deployed aboard different CVs. Maybe? Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 support squadrons, esp those with larger than fighter airframes, tend to be smaller. the line units have just the 4, while the RAG has more for training crews 1 Quote

Think my confusion was from detachment versus squadrons : Established from VAW-11 were RVAW-110 (a FRS), VAW-111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116 and established from VAW-12 were RVAW-120 (a FRS), VAW-121, 122, 123, 124. So i will made up decals and numbers for 4 planes number to select per squadron 1 Quote
+1977Frenchie Posted February 14, 2018 Author Posted February 14, 2018 Well, i can't load model in Mue's tool box as we do not have the LOD of the model so i need your help dear guru's :) Is there a way to find a mesh name cause i have some skins that need decals on engine pods and vertical stabs (the one's inside, not the external one's). A lot have been made since last post for the VAW-115, but with this information i will be done :) What will come out for this squadron : Skin 1 1991 (Operation Iraqi Freedom) Skin 2 2000 Era skin 1 Skin 3 2000 Era skin 2 Skin 4 2010 Era Skin 5 2013 Era Skin 6 Unindified Era But here is a montage of these tails Quote
Wrench Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 that's strange! it opened up for me right away! You did click on the main ini (E-2C.ini) right??? vstab_r1, rudder_r1, vstab_L1 (there is NO rudder on the left inner fin) engine_pod_R engine_pod_L Quote

Wrench Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 ALL lods are unavailable in ALL the SF2 game post 2012. They're locked away in ObjectCat.002. by chance, you on an OS other than Win7?? That might be the issue (but since i'm on win7....) Post a question to Mue, if you can't get it working, in his TooBox Thread. if you need coordinates for stuff, I can try and figure them out (right/left, fore/aft sort of thing.) Quote
KJakker Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Do you have your CAT file access enabled and pointing to your Strike Fighters 2 install directory? Quote

+1977Frenchie Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 Last night made the decals and placements for the inner tails on skins of 2000 and 2013. I just finished the decals needed for all skins. Remaining is the placements of these which i am planning to do this evening. After having these, other squadrons should be easier :) 2 Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 i call it the ini dance, once you have the initial template and the initial placement the rest falls into line. get getting things dialled in......... Quote
