UllyB Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 In SF1, when the loadout menu appeared, I had that music with that old hangar Vietnam speakers effect (I think it was made for SF1/WOV) combined with sounds of jets pasing by and I liked it so much that I tried to export it to SF2 loadout screen as well. I looked into SF1 loadout.ini file and I saw the entries. The SF2 loadout.ini entries look almost the same. I created an entry in it and created whatever lines were needed (I copied the ones from SF1). I also put the needed sounds in sounds folder. I tried them in game , but they won't work. I tried a different approach to check if it is something wrong with creating a new entry in ini SF2 files for this kind of matter. I imitated the exact procedure for the hangar screen, and now, it worked. My question is why for hangar screen works and for loadout screen doesn't ? I checked and double checked the entries and the syntax, I don't know what I did wrong. Any ideas please ? Thank you Quote
+Sundowner Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 seriously, your best solution is to forget whatever you did in SF1 and just start all over again with SF2.........or go back to SF1. 1 2 Quote
UllyB Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) well at least tell me what I did wrong... Maybe I can go further from there. You are not helping by slapping me and telling me nothing of what I asked. Edited February 2, 2019 by UllyB Quote
+yakarov79 Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 maybe for start try something that is actually working like this: (BACKUP first your own stuff) then try your own modding skills. 30 minutes ago, Sundowner said: seriously, your best solution is to forget whatever you did in SF1 and just start all over again with SF2.........or go back to SF1. CowboyTodd41 Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 I'm pretty sure in SF1 the hangar sounds were two or three sound files playing simultaneously, like there was one track that was the old radio, then a couple of different jet fly-bys. In SF2 there is only sound file that will play on each screen. You could certainly extract those sounds from SF1 and run them through a sound editing program to combine them back together and make what sounds like the same thing but combines those three tracks into one audio file and set that as the hangar noise, but no the way it worked in SF1 is not the way it works in SF2 1 Quote

For HANGAR screen they work as they did in the old SF1. Here: [HangarScreen] MenuType=NORMAL_MENU UseSetBackground=TRUE //BackgroundImage=DefaultHangarScreen.JPG MenuItem001=SystemMenuHotspot MenuItem002=SummaryTextArea MenuItem003=SummaryTitle MenuItem004=DateText MenuItem005=BriefingsButton MenuItem006=LoadoutButton MenuItem007=PlanningMapButton MenuItem008=PilotRosterButton MenuItem009=FlyButton MenuItem010=CancelButton MenuItem011=HangarScreenTitle MenuItem012=HangarNoise <- I added this line MenuCodeDLL=HangarScreen.dll RememberMenu=TRUE DefaultSelection=-1 MouseAnimation=MouseAnimation BackgroundMusic= TextFilename=HangarScreen.str ............................................................. [HangarNoise] MenuItemType=AMBIENTNOISE StartTime=1.0 RepeatInterval=0.5 Randomness=4.0 BackgroundLoop=HangarRadio1.wav SoundName[001]=HangarNoise1.wav SoundName[002]=HangarNoise2.wav SoundName[003]=HangarNoise3.wav I copied at the bottom this section, directly from SF1 file and it works. There are all four sounds, the music and the three entries fro jets passing by, but the trick , for LOADOUT screen didn't work. Edited February 2, 2019 by UllyB Quote
+yakarov79 Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Someone is moderating this ... or you are just removing your own posts? rename your Hangar screen jpg and then change the name of a file in ini file... It will help 1 Quote
UllyB Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) No, I edited it because I read and find typos and sometime I add new ideas that I forgot to say them in the previous post, that's all. I hope it doesn't create confusing. This is the thread for hangar sounds. I think you are writing me for the hangar screen JPG or am I mistaken ? Edited February 2, 2019 by UllyB Quote

It will help yes , it worked! So that it was...If the hangar custom name concides with the stock one, the stock one overwrites the custom one. It's good to know. Thank you very much for your insight and help. I couldn't have done it without your help. It ddn't cross my mind to change the name. 1 Quote
