i was playing the game normally and all of a sudden all engine and gun sounds are gone.

only thing that is left is the radio, rwr and the sidewinder tone.

I tried deleting the sounds folder and using another version of SF2s sound folder but still no sound.

Other versions of SF2 have sound too

It's a known issue at least with the engine sounds. It usually happens when I switch to the map while flying. I don't fire the gun much so I never noticed that issue.

Yup, known issue. The 'quick way' to fix while in-game, is pause the game, and then unpause. the sound should return

Try adding the sounds to your soundlist.ini file.

How would I do that, im new to this and this issue is happening to me as well. How do I add the sounds to the soundlist.ini? Also even my base aircraft the non-modded in ones have no engine or gun audio. This happened after I added in a new batch of add-on aircraft today (about 30).

Well you get the CAT Extractor and extract the Soundlist.ini from the game, and then you put that in your Flight Mod folder. Then you add the sounds sequentially so the game will recognize them. The readmes should list the sounds to add and such.

THIS statement says it all ... something got corrupted during the install of those other items.

What you gotta do now, is rename that entire mod folder. Run the executable again, so it creates a NEW one. DO NOT ADD ANYTHING TO THIS NEW MOD FOLDER!!!!!!!!

Play a few missions, testing that things are actually working as they're supposed to.

Then, and ONLY THEN, start adding your mods ONE AT A TIME, following the instructions in the supplied readmes. Play a mission after adding each item. When, and if, things to south, you'll know where the problem is.

Report back to us, if all goes well, or borks itself
