New video Card advice

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I think I am ready for a new video card. ( I know my old one is ancient but a wife and kids come first!). Anyways I have a P4 2.0 Ghz chip 1 gig of PC2700 ram and a Ti-4200 Video Card. What do you think would be my best bang for the buck? Mind you it does not have to be a bargain basement item but worth the $$.I am so out of touch with computer hardware thesedays I am ashamed!!!

Thanks in advance!

Craig

GF FX 6800 GT, that is what I have in mine and it was worth every dime spent.

6600 GT is also worth the price, but if you can get a good price on the 6800 GT go for it.

You may find it hard to find a 6800GT as they are being replaced by 6800GS.

I've been looking for one myself, with the 68000GTs being 'not top of the line' anymore, might be able to find them slightly cheeper.

Hi Mate

I'm running a XFX6800GT with a 2600+ XP chip about on apar with 2gig P4 and it runs sweet.

Average frame rate in FS2004 40 to 50 fps.

Cheers Pete
