I've been working/tweaking Centurion-1's Korea 1985 campaign here lately, trying to focus on a "what-if" campaign taking place in 1985-1987 timeframe. With this in mind, I'm having to create some skins for aircraft which would have been involved.

Currently focusing on the 25th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 51st Tactical Fighter Wing which operated the A-10A from Suwon AB, ROK starting in 1982 till November 1989. This skin is for the A-10A and C package from Spectre8750, I'm currently tweaking it a bit more and then plan to release it.

Question, would the Squadron patch in 1984-1989 been the design like what I used or the modern shape?

'87 it appears the didn't have much of anything

What book is that for reference? I used "Colors and Markings of the A-10 Warthog" and have found some pictures on the web which have help.

Here's one June 11, 1986, on approach to Suwon, which is what I was going to base my skins off of. Still need to tweak them a bit. Also need to try and id about a dozen or so tail numbers.

nice site. you have to wander around it abit to get to the pics, but the home page has a lot of potential for PACAF overall (a topic not often covered in the books outside of a chapter or a mention)

I've reworked the skin a bit, put the Squadron and Wing patches on the skin instead of using decals. Redid the tail codes, enlarged tail letters and redid the PACAF patch.

I'm in the process of doing the tail and nose numbers.

time saving trick i do  is to make the AFxx-xxx tail number, then turn off the layer group that has the AFxx for the nose num. you gotta juiggle the decal ini a little as one side will be off on the other, but it is much quicker than making a batch each tail and nose nums

also to my eye at least, the unit patches could shrink a little.  shouldnt hurt much if its the template i think it is (and 4096 px big!)

Thanks for the tip and the suggestion on the Wing and Squadron patch sizes. Will tweak them again soon!

I've got a PSD with USAF style serials. Makes things super easy!

I've included it in the last dozen or so mid-60/70 skins I've done.

I've attached it here, so have at it. You should be able to figure out the layering, and add any needed number digits (you'll see)
