  4. I sound like such a goober saying this lmao, but does anyone know how to give a radar the ability to actually acquire targets? Making a modernized F-111 (built on Fastcargo's F-111G) for myself and I have everything except the ARH capability, I can load the missiles, and the radar does search for targets and all, but when I press the keys to acquire targets, nothing happens, thus making the AMRAAMs all duds (which is counterintuitive)
  5. I’ve only managed to figure out text editing, haven’t done much with models yet. Hmm If you can get the model working I could do the data.ini and such, but I don’t have enough experience with the models themselves to be of any use unfortunately.

  11. Just wanted to ask, is there a way to disable specific base game content (specifically maps and jets) without deleting them outright? I really want to curate the aircraft and map list to the theme and a few of the game’s jets, but mostly the maps, do not fit that theme
  12. Also, I have my eye on the old Hangar B F-32s (The CTOL, STOVL, and CV trio), since they're on sale right now, and have a royalty free license so it should be ok if I get them flying in SF2, still thought I'd ask before I make any decisions.
  13. Ok so first off I'd like to say, unfortunately haven't gone on the modding escapades I thought I would, lot of unrelated personal stuff that ended up distracting me. Either way, I thought I'd ask, I've seen an F-32 and ASF-14/ST-21 on this site, however both have pretty low detail models, anyone considering making new ones/maybe even have a model lying around I could mess around with? Figured I'd ask before going on an internet excursion to find models of those jets.
  14. The name was in part a placeholder just so I can think of something better. Also, thank you, I’ve only messed around with aircraft and weapon ini before but I’d imagine the other types of them are pretty simple too. Also yeah there’s a few obvious things that make this idea not realistic but part of it is just that I think weird little cockpit robots (like the ones you see in Ace Combat 7) look really cool. Half of this is definitely “rule of cool” stuff.
  15. Oh yeah that thing, it’s kind of the same concept if you think about it. I think it’s pretty interesting for sure!

Tbh I was planning on flying it mostly just to see how it performs then using it as an enemy when I want to fly Russian planes against an overwhelming force (every so often it is cool to fight a ton of enemy patrols with a small squadron, and such a drone would be perfect for that sort of thing.)

So, having quite the imagination, I came up with a what-if near future jet I’m kind of considering modding into the game (so long as I can figure out how to make the “pilot” and the skins for it.) I’ve dubbed it the “Q/F-16 Autofalcon” as a placeholder name. I imagine all sorts of F-16s from the US Air Force being pulled from storage and taken apart before seeing deep modernization (especially with complete replacement of the radar, a slightly more efficient engine, and more fuel in place of some of the pilot accommodations.) So anyways, the cockpit is still glass, but it has this little “black box” with a “head” of glass lenses that allow it to see. This machine functions as a “pilot” and is the eyes of the AI that connects to the fighter and essentially gives it orders. (Similarly, the airbases these things land at would be entirely automated.) And anyways, they would essentially be on perpetual combat air patrol, with a pair of at least two always in the sky (and many more on standby at all times) searching for enemies. Also, for more Ace Combat vibes (yes this is 100% an Ace Combat-inspired thing), they have a language of like chirps and screeches and beeps that they use to talk amongst each other and to take some of the workload off the central giant computer. While not at all practical, I think it’s a cool idea. I just personally love emotionless machines that are like ants almost in behavior, by far one of my favorite types of mildly terrifying science fiction tech. If I do make a mod for it, I’m considering making multiple versions that are compatible with several of the F-16 mods on this site. Especially since this thing is supposed to be all converted older F-16s so having at the least an F-16A, C, and Block 60 version would be pretty neat (and would only be stat edits and pilot + skin swaps really. I would mainly have to compile a document with credits to the original F-16 authors and a organize the file structure as to not be confusing to add to the game, but that’s a task for if I actually make this thing) (Note: Will also have to find out how to create the weird chirping sounds they’ll use and how to add them as dialogue but only for these things)

  19. Yeah sorry about the general question, I just gotta figure out where to begin really. I suppose when I start, I can ask more. Thank you by the way. When it comes to jets, I’m especially interested in adding ST-21, (a new, higher definition) F-20 Tigershark, F2Y Sea Dart, and (X)F5U as a Korean War Fighter (not a jet I know, using it as a general term here). Probably biting off more than I can chew so to speak but hey I’ll see how it goes.
  20. I have my own laundry list of jets I would love to see in game and am considering taking things into my own hands, any advice on where to start? I think I have the text editing down by now (besides the measurements the text editor uses, meters I assume?), and I wanted to ask for pointers on the 3D and texture aspects of the modding process. I’m by no means experienced in texturing or modeling but you only live once and it’d be worth taking a shot at!
  21. Ah, damn. Thanks for responding anyways. I guess that provides the opportunity to remake it if you ever intend to. There were a few F-15s tested with Wild Weasel Chin Pods so it's a pretty grounded what-if.
